Well, I don't consider them really old time rock and roll....but did anyone else like the Bay City Rollers back in the 70's?
My best friend and I had our whole lives planned out around them. I was going to marry the lead singer and she was going to marry one of the guitarists.

Peace!

My friend directed me to this thread. I must say its a groovy, happenin' place. I can feel the LOVE! I really dig it man!

I didn't go through every post, (I got to page twelve,) my computer is running slow tonight, BUT I'm sure I have ya ALL beat! I live twenty minutes from the town of Woodstock, the original hippieville. The real Woodstock was held miles away from there, however Woodstock 2 was held much closer to the village, which I attended BTW. I am an orginal hippie and was in a peace march in 1971. I was only fourteen at the time but I was very serious about the march.

I loved that vintage Beatle cartoon! I used to watch that all the time. Talk about the monkees!!! NO ONE loved Davy Jones as much as I. I even cut my beautiful long blond hair to look like his, I dressed like him and devoloped a british axcent so i could talk like him. My room was covered with huge posters of the monkees. I had all their albums. I watched the orginal TV series every monday night at 7:30. Now the funny thing is Jesus also came into my life when I was 14. So the monkees has already spilt by then and were losing their popularity. The new teen idols were Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy, Barry Gibb...but I was still a fanatic for davy Jones, even though I found out that he had secretly married Linda (?) while they were still at the height of their popularity.

So Jesus was showing up and touching hippies and young people. I was one of the ones He touched. later that night I asked Him, "Dearest Jesus...do I have to give up Davy Jones?" Of course Jesus proved to be much more worthy of my heart and affection. :D

So here is the cover of Time Magazine from June of 1971. I quickly purchased a copy as I myself was a hippie Jesus Freak.

Can you see Jesus' head with the crown of thorns painted on this van and the cross in the upper right hand corner?

Check out the guys in suit and ties praying for the hippies

Cover of LIFE magazine 1972. The index finger pointed upward replaced the peace sign for the Jesus people, meaning there is only one way to Heaven-Jesus Christ!

Ocean baptism! A great movement towards Jesus among young people and young adults! Lord let it happen again!
