• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wolseley-
 I would like to thank you for clearing that up, you took the words right out of my mouth.

And if I can put in my 2 cents. I know that there are alot of people that do not support war or the military, but to be completely oppossed to a force that helps keep our country free saddens me. Because this is what I do, to support my family, to put food on the table, clothes on their back and a roof over their head. I know that I can't speak for all military personnel, but I don't tell anyone else that I think their job is wrong and that they shouldn't do it. But it is a free country so everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but just remember the reason our country is free, they are called Veterans, they are your Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Husbands, Wives, best friends. But I can tell you, I would not change where the Lord has lead me to, even if I could, I love being in the military, helping keep my family, friends and every American free. I would glady, with-out hesitation, give my life in battle if I knew that it was helping keep my beloved home safe for my family AND yours.

That's all for now.
God Bless!!

WOW!! Thank you for that post, Soldier. Your post has touched me deeply. I have the highest respect for those who serve in our military. I have never worn the uniform and can't even begin to fathom what it takes to even put one on. During times like this I feel a bit of guilt for not serving and protecting our country, but I don't think I would have nearly enough courage to do what you guys do. Not everyone in this country blames you (those in the military) for what is going on. You do as you are ordered, and you do it w/ the utmost precision and without thought of your own life. You put yourself in harms way so that my family can go on w/ life. It is because of that sacrifice, because of what you do.... I can't even begin to place into words. I am very thank ful for those of you who serve, have served, or will be serving soon. My family thanks you! We owe you much more than we can give. THANK YOU!! God bless you! You, and the rest of the military will be in my prayers.

Most men and women in the military are honroable people that deserve all the respect they recieve and more. It is just so sad to see those brave people who have dedicated their lifes to protecting their country be used by their own goverment in dishonorable and unessecary wars.

Jutsuka what makes you so sure that this war will be unecessary. From the other thread I understand your position on that this war is unjust in that all killing is unjust but you yourself gave reasons for killing to be necessary even knowing it to be a sin. You and I nor anyone else here has proven that this war would be unecessary as well as none has proven it to be necessary. Yes I've stated in effect that as of yet I haven't found this war to be necessary but to prove that I would have to take the stance that I know Iraq to be completely honest and forthrite in which I am not willing to do. I can only hope and pray that after the war we will find that the war was totally necessary! If it's then proven that Saddam was and is planning to use those weapons against us, weather by him or by others, than the war would've been totally necessary.

I am an Army veteran myself serving from 85 to 88 and in the National Guard for several years after this. When this war starts I will support the troops and the commanders that will lead them as well as our president. Any other way would bring dishonor to them.

I once was a soldier and even though I never saw war all I wanted in return was that if I did go to war I would have the full support of the American people. Therefore I will not let by brothers in arms down.

Thank you, you don't know how powerful your words of thanks and appreciation are. I don't hear that too often, it does mean alot. Kinda wierd, but my mother doesn' even like that fact that I am in the military, but that is her perogative, I love it.

God Bless!!

Not supporting the war and not supporting military personnel are two different things.

I do not support the war, as of now. I do support the military. I will not support the war if/when it starts, but it's not out of disrespect to those fighting, but for those who are putting my friends and family into danger for no good reason.

Yes, I really like that Bomb. Its called MOAB for "MOther Of All Bombs"!
Weighs 21,000 lbs. if you care to try to pick it up; Twice as big as the Daisy Cutter and, even though it is conventional, it has a mushroom plume that rises 10,000 feet in the air .

Maybe we could use it on a few of Saddam's luxury 'castles' that are said to spread out for acres, and reportedly have underground bunkers for biological labs.

Er...No, not quite chickenman; better go back and read the whole chapter.
The last verse says two of these evil ones were "cast alive into a lake of fire.",

"And the remnant were SLAIN with the sword of Him that sat on the horse, which sword proceeds out of His mouth, and all the fowls were filled with their flesh". (Rev.19:21)
Doesn't exactly sound like diplomacy to me. :D
