That bomb...

I heard (on the Rush Limbaugh program) that the Military was testing a new bomb in Florida inbetween 12pm and 5pm, Central Time... or planned to.

Anyone heard anythign about it?

The idea that we will use this weapon on human beings. . .who have not even attacked us. . .what are we coming to as a country? Although it is nonnuclear, it is only 15 times weaker than what we dropped on Hiroshima. ;;^.^;;

I kind of get sick of these simplistic remarks.&nbsp; I don't support this war, that doesn't mean I also think Hussein should get off scott-free.

And besides, it was Jesus who said 'turn the other cheek' - why do his followers deliberately ignore such a command?

It's stated purpose may indeed be "to clear mines and caves."

The stated purpose of the atomic bomb was to blow up a strategic military base. Instead, 200,000 people died in what we now admit was at least a mixed civilian and military city.

Let me apply that logic to another situation.

A gunmaker is talking to a reporter questioning the logic for making a new gun. "But, this is not a miniature machine gun. It is a submachine pistol that can fire 9 hollow point bullets in 5 seconds. Sure, murder's bad, and more likely than not, that is the use of this weapon. But if there are to be murders, don't you think thugs should have the best possible tool to get the job done?"

People will do anything to save their own skin? I agree that there are many people who will, but to catagorize everyone like that is wrong. If people will do anything to save their own skin then they wouldnt be fighting in a war anyways would they? I met a man who fought at the battle of Iwo Jima, threw himself on 3.....yes 3 grenades to save his buddies. People will do anything to save themselves? Well, not all.


I dont know of any American soldier ever being given the choice of "shooting a civilian or dying"(Then again I dont know everything).

May i think, but that surrender was turned down by the american goverment since it wasn't unconditional i believe, have to look it up to be sure.

Yeah, the onlöy condition was, that the Japanese Emperor will still be head of state and not that Japan would be changed to democratic or republic government. I think, that thery wanted to be in the possession of the Kuriles, too. Well I think, a few islands and staying monarchy doesn´t justify to kill half a million men, women and children and poison that many more....
