That Awkward Moment Thread

That awkward moment when you're making a digital drawing and all of a sudden your tablet pen isn't working right, and you wonder why...and then you notice you're holding it upside-down!

That awkward moment when you're at a church bbq talking to a guy from the church whose you're age when a woman comes up and his touching his arm and stuff, and, not wanting to be rude, you introduce yourself but unwisely say "Oh, hey, is this you're girlfriend?"... to which he responded "This is my mom!". We all tried to laugh it off saying it was a compliment to her but then it almost seems like I could be attracted to her or something (which I was not) and was just extremely awkward all around.

So much awkward. In my defence she did look young at a quick glance and was slim... but she had obvious grey hairs going on upon looking and not just glancing. Also in my defence was how touchy feely she was with a 24 year old son in public, caressing his arm etc...

Anyway yeah that was unpleasant haha

Awkward moment when a guy goes to leave the aisle you just walked into and then comes back, stands next to you, and then follows you around for a while. He never said anything and I was trying not to get freaked out. hahahaha. Security!

Hi, SK, thanks.

I have no idea. I am starting to think I must be a little strange or there must be something about me that attracts strange attention. It certainly isn't how I was dressed (think t-shirt and black shorts, nothing suggestive or revealing). This has happened to me several times and off and on since my teenage years. I'd like to think maybe the guy was just trying to work up the courage to say "hi" or something but it became awkward the longer it went on.

I bet that was odd. I've had that happen while I've be out driving somewhere and it is hard to tell what is actually going on.

Girl, you do you. I am certainly not one of those guys who thinks a woman deserves any kind of negative actions taken against her for being slightly "revealing", so no need to assure me that you did nothing wrong here in what you wear.

....This just happened to me last night! I volunteered to help clean up after a fundraiser, arrived all eager to help, was given a task and dove right in. A few minutes later one of the ladies in charge started yelling at me that I was doing it wrong and I could just stop. She didn't bother to explain how I was doing it wrong or how I could do the task correctly, but just turned and started complaining about me to the other volunteers. I left.

That was pretty rude of her. You were just being nice and helpful! That's something that irks me, when people are unappreciative of kindness and helpful acts towards them.

I am the WORST about nametags. My school one I keep on a lanyard and it is either on my neck or hanging from the rearview mirror of my car.
