  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think it depends for me.

I like texting because I can keep a conversation going through out the whole day without talking. Which makes me feel more connected with a person. Also, I have a birds brain so anything people tell me though a phone call, I'll most likely forget. A text allows me to re-read things and better understand them and stuff. I guess it's because I am a visual person.

I don't mind talking on the phone, but I prefer to be the one called. I don't like to be the one to text/call first. I just don't like it. Not even with my own family which gets me in trouble sometimes because, well, I don't let the folks know what's up. Of course if it's important stuff I will call/text. I'm just not the type to initiate a conversation with anybody. I always feel like I'm bugging people and I just put it off.

With a bf, of course I would love to talk as much as possible, but sometimes it's just easier to text... and again, I'm a visual person, so getting to see words on a screen just works better.

I do think that anything really serious should be done over the phone rather than texting. It's faster. Plus, sometimes texting can be annoying. lol

I guess long story short, I like both options as long as I don't have to initiate anything. :p
