I would prefer calling over texting. I like actually hearing the persons voice and then I can explain in more detail then a quick text.

Depending on the situation I prefer talking on the phone. But when people are busy or in a place where they can't talk on the phone texts are definitely nice. I'm shy so I am more likely to text someone than to call someone. Unless it's someone I talk to all the time, or I know they can't receive texts.

Depends. There are a couple of people I've onl ever texted, and some that I've only talked to on the phone.

Ugh, I hate calling. It's awkward beyond words trying to think of something to say to keep the conversation going. And voicemail? Like garlic to a vampire.

It depends on who it is.


A friend prefer talking by text (Im a guy, they are friends I don't need nor care for small talk, a text from a friend is right to the point without the small talk)

A woman I am dating, I prefer hearing her voice as much as possible, but a text shows she is thinking of me even if she may not have the time to talk.

A number I don't know gets ignored anyway.

As much as I hate talking on the phone, I'd much rather get a call or call someone then text.

Maybe if it's just a quick message, like 'buy milk' or something, then I'll text...but other then that, it's phone call for me.

I do not have a phone. Well, I do, but my use of it is restricted to one person (and even then it'll be a spate of texting for a week then ignoring my phone completely...) and then essential phone calls made when seeking a job.

My dislike of phones is a serious barrier to communication.

Overall I prefer calls. I text/call based on who I'm talking to. Some of my friends like talking on the phone and some like to text. I'm flexible that way.
