  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So the husband is abused and the advice is take more abuse. Sure, there's a highly ascetic application for this that works for the saints, but it is totally impracticable in the real world to keep stable families together.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaamen!

Not married nor in an abusive relationship, but I think this point often gets forgotten or ignored by clergy at times. Yes, there is an ideal and sometimes that ideal has a certain "ascetic application" to it. But then there is reality and practicality, both of which are not always taken into account.
Now find 1. a woman on board with this, 2. a spiritual father on board with this, and 3. having a means to maintain leverage as head of the household, and 4. real accountability to fight your own sinful relational tendencies. Yet, most people are just happy enough to find a spouse that looks good enough and won't negatively effect their social strata. People marry for the wrong reasons and with the wrong expectations.
Again, aaaaaaaaaaaaamen!

I recently moved out of Texas and to East Tennessee.
I've never lived near Dallas, but I've been there twice. The whole middle of America is horribly ugly. The summers are brutal, the grass is yellow, it does snow, but whenever it does snow, Texas shuts down because for some reason they refuse to adapt. Maybe Dallas is more adapted, but the Austin area certainly isn't. If it ever snows, expect the power to go out. Even if it's a mere freeze after a rain or snows 0.2 inches.

Florida on the other had has vastly superior food and fun ocean stuff to do. You also have better football teams to root for. I'd say Florida as Texas is a state with virtually nothing other than jobs.
If you're gonna live somewhere where it's hot, may as well live by the ocean. Just seems like Florida would be a better place to have a family.
