I was raised by a father that was a Presbyterian deacon until I was 12. That is when I joined my grandmother's church. She was a Southern Babtist Sunday School teacher for 46 years. She was my mentor. but lo and behold I rebelled as a teenager, and my teenage years lasted well into my twenties. I sang in a rock and roll band and did all sorts of things. My life hit the ultimate lows in 1984 from my hardheadedness until God did the best thing he could do. He took the perverbial 2x4 up against this donkeys head to get my attention. In February of 1984 I was shot by one of my best friends and co-workers. He shot me twice in the back, once in the shoulder, and three times ion the head at point blank range. The doctors gave me little hope of surviving through the night. They told my parents when they got to the hospital that IF I lived through the night I would never see, never walk, and be in the hospital for at least a year, and physical therapy for a long time after that just learning to cope. That was February 4, 1984. February 11, 1984, by the grace of God, I walked out of the hospital. When I got home I jumped into my car and went up to get my check at work. Only God and Prayer saved me, but for years I did not see that. It was not until about three years ago that I realized what God had done for me. Now it has put me on a quest to learn everything I can and teach and tell others about what God can do for them. I am now looking for online schools to go to, that I can afford, to get my degree and possibly go to seminary. This is something that I have been praying about and feel led in this direction. Being close to 50 now and having to work all the time to make a living for my family it is hard, but God will show me the way to get there. Looking back at my life and what has gone on I feel that I will be very good at helping people that are down and out. Please pray for me and my family in this quest that God shows me the way. Also if anyone has any suggestions please let me know also, I am just starting my research on where to go and what to do, so anything will help.
