  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and decided that I should begin with sharing my testimony.

When I was 15 years old, my mother begin to attend a christian church and as a result I was forced to attend as well. This went along for several months which resulted in many arguments with her over religious views. About 2 years later when I was 17 I begin to get a little closer to God. As time pass I begin to work with the church and other ministries. I was in charge of everything technical at church, since it was a small congregation and I was the only one with the knowledge of these things, as well as helping on christian radio station project with technical support. About 3 months pass and I begin to spend a lot of time at churches speaking with people and learning from them on how to work with cameras, lighting and so forth. At this point I still denied most of the christian doctrines. I had a great job which I enjoyed, had my own vehicle, and money to spare. One day while working at a local church, an older gentlemen came up to me a told me to study God's word and I would be a great teacher. Of course I thought nothing of this, I figured this was some sort of scam. About a month pass and I begin to feel an urge to help out more at church, I no longer begin to treat the work I did as bothersome, but as joyful. I was once again confronted by my church Pastor, she told me, give your time and mind to God and he will make you a teacher. At this point I once again denied God's call and went on my way. About a week later, my boss at that time called me early that morning into his office and like nothing I was fired. I moved on and got myself a lower paying job and went through about all the money I had saved up. Once again, one Sunday morning a young man from my church came to me to and told me that I could no longer live in denying God's purpose in my live. I just answered "ok" and went on my way. The following afternoon, I was in a car accident and lost the car, at that point I did not have car issuance, or even a valid drivers license. At this time I remember the words I had received from all this people, and at that point I just dropped on the side of the road and begged God to forgive me. About 45 mins came and went, the police came to up to me ask for my story, and he just let me go with just a couple of tickets. After that day I changed completely in from my way of thinking to my social life. Since that day I been grateful for the way God changed me. I now dedicate as much time as I free to study God's word and share time with fellow brothers and sisters.

I hope this testimony is a bless in your lives.
