I have had the most terrible OCD. I have had it for months now and I would like to request prayer for me and my friend who also suffers from it and any other sufferers. I hope to find an answer and some type of cure. It's hard for me to seek therapy because my parents do not believe I have OCD. My thoughts are evil and I would like to cleanse my mind and get rid of the anxiety. Please pray:] thank you.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus is my Shelter my Refuge my Fortress
Run to Jesus and tell Him all about your fears and thoughts.Cry out to Him in prayer.The safest place to go when we are scared or feel unsafe is to Jesus who is our all powerful Saviour ,our Rock,the Annointed one,our solid foundation,our Hope and our Strength.He came to save and not condemn ,He came to heal the broken hearted and deliver the captiives and to set at liberty them who are bruised.

He says we can do nothing without Him.
He is our High Priest who understands our weakenesses and is touched by our infirmities.
Jesus says come to Me ALL ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Jesus is Truth.
Jesus says none can snatch us out oh His hand and we shall never perish.
Jesus shed His blood to save us and He will never leave us or forsake us no matter what kind of ocd affliction we suffer with.
Do not be afraid to seek help from a pastor or doctor and even christian friends or relatives if you need to.I hope you find someone to help you with this and support you.
Jesus will protect you and bring you through.
Jesus leads us beside still waters and restores our souls.
He is our strength and our hope.
Jesus is Trustworthy and the Wonderful Counsellor and Prince of Peace and Everlasting Father.
Just as a parent gives good gifts to their children so Jesus gives good gifts to those who ask Him.
I will pray for you.
Jesus is holding onto you and protecting you.

He will not leave your side.We all get terrible thoughts. I have absolutely ridiculously evil thoughts. Absolutely ridiculous, your eyes would pop out if you heard some of them. But they aren't from my heart because Jesus Christ lives in my heart. It's a direct result of all the pollution that goes into our heads every day. Won't it be great when we are freed from this body of death?
