pppsssst newman can you get erwin to fix the daily search button?

That would be handy, wouldn't it? I hope it gets fixed soon too. I am sure someone has made him aware of it (but I can bug him about it too).

If DR were to go away could we expect that radical an announcement to be given by Erwin and that the actual closing of the DR forum would be done by him and not just presented to him as a done deal?

I would think that anything as radical as the complete elimination of a forum would be something we would keep Erwin in the loop about beforehand. He is already aware of the options we are primarily looking at implementing (which falls short of complete elimination of the forum) so I don't foresee any gap between something we are likely to do and what he would likely approve of.

Excellent, thanks NewMan99

It requires a flip of the switch.

As I mentioned before, there are several factors incorporated into the June 11 due date.

- support team training
- DR policy discussion
- Conciliator discussion
- support/conciliator discussion
- policy/rule issues backlog being discussed by exec

When is the support/conciliator discussion supposed to begin?

How will it be conducted?

It can start anytime :) I'm ready and I know Tawny is, too. I think for now we'll have to do with PMs but any PM I write with you I give permission now to be shared with all the conciliators.

* I apologize for my absence from this thread for a few days. It's a long story, but I am trying to get a lot of things done around the house before I get put into an elbow brace that's very restrictive, but which thankfully will let my fingers do all the typing they want :)

I echo these questions.

To the extent Staff is relying on my support of this proposal to give
it credibility, please be advised that my support is hanging by a thread.

Between now and June 11 the Execs are busy working through the backlog of issues and the DR reform is being hammered out. Right?

Important issues and critical time period for shaping policy!

Some questions come to mind...
  1. Why is this being done when Erwin has been away from CF since May 23?
  2. Why is this being done when the Orthodox Affairs Director has been away since April 25?
  3. Why do we still just have a Temporary Protestant Affairs Director since April 30th?
...
Good points to ponder.

Erwin is well aware of the DR reform - and approves of it. If something comes up that would require his direct participation or approval I am sure we will bring it to his attention.
I would be more assured if I actually heard/seen that from Erwin himself.

Will staff as a whole be allowed to post in the new fora or will they be limited to only senior and pre aproved members of staff being able to respond or post?

I agree staff should be moderated by the same measures as all members - but this shouldnt mean they cannot also have a voice as all other members either because they are still also members themselves.

Constance said earlier in this thread that the plan was for all of staff to be able to post as members.

Earlier in this thread, it was noted that the software automatically approves all of the staff posts.

That was countered by the rule that will require non-Support staff to unapprove all their posts until they can be reapproved.

There is an easier way.

Staff can be required to post with a sock whose custom title identifies them. This identifies them and makes their posts go through the same process as members.
