Cheers for your response, Timothy. Does that work as well for automatically moving unapproved posts to the conciliator forum?

Can't really answer that one, because I have no idea how they're planning on implementing it, and my guesses--though they might be accurate--have about a 50/50 chance of being wrong or right.

FWIW for those concerned about that - this is not a big deal.
CF already has a forum operating that way called Struggles with Sexuality.
So it is NOT a new concept.

And it sounds like the mechanism to view post and thread logs will be utilized to manage wisely.

The difference is that the struggles with sexuality forum is moderated to protect potentially vulnerable individuals. I'm not really sure who moderating the DR will protect. I do know however that it will significantly stifle discussion of policy.

Will the name of the forum be changed? Under the previous system i thought it was barely a discussion area and this new system will essentially stop discussion. I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing but i do think that the title of a forum should represent its purpose.

Go look at the recovery forums. Are they discussing?

Could i propose a third option rather than just aprove, disprove? I am worried in the potential abuse of the system whereby if one mod wants to arbitrarily slow down the DR then they simply need to forget to aprove or disprove posts for an hour or two. Perhaps a 'second opinion' button could be implemented which would mean that after reviewing a post a mod has to select one of the three options.

how about "if you can't approve it, report it?" Every Support mod would get a PM notifying them of the post.

Probably a silly question but does Erwin have time to implement such a system? He's been absent quite a lot recently with quite a few bugs left unfixed. I haven't got a clue about internet programming but it seems to me like it would be a pretty big job to code up. Is this technically realistic by the 11th?

It requires a flip of the switch.

As I mentioned before, there are several factors incorporated into the June 11 due date.

- support team training
- DR policy discussion
- Conciliator discussion
- support/conciliator discussion
- policy/rule issues backlog being discussed by exec

Conciliators will not have access to staff forums. Hopefully they feel there are trusted individuals on staff who can watchdog that process. Having worked very closely with the Support Team, they have my utmost confidence.

Standard staff actions which you are familiar with, including removal from staff in extreme cases.

I would hope each of us (on exec, on staff, on conciliatory, on membership) will be accountable to each other, as well as to the rest of the membership. No. Just as I don't go into other areas of the board and start deleting or editing posts in forums I do not moderate.
