I currently live in Austin,TX. I think it's called the music capital or something like that. It's like a mini-Nashville and mini-LA. they filmed many movies here, I heard that they filmed parts of Miss Congeniality here, filmed most of Spy Kids 3 here, and this is where Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson got married. Most of all, the University of Texas at Austin is here. Oh, and George W. Bush was a governor. I don't know what else to say... anybody else from Austin? Maybe y'all can help me out :)

You're not kidding. I'm looking at 350k for a decent condo in Orange County by the start of next year. It's disgusting. Kinda makes you wonder where people get that kind of money, doesn't it?

Yes it does! Craziness!?!?... I'll have to sell a kidney in order to buy a place on my own! :D Actually, you're lucky to find something for $350k.. that's a great deal! You know, condos went up 30% last year alone?!?! Anyway.. I digress from the point of this thread.

Sacramento is the capital of CA and home of the governator. That's about all you've got going for you.

But you ARE in close driving distance of several lovely attractions, like Monterrey, San Francisco, and Lake Tahoe...

Ya I thought about throughing that in about the govenator. I love lake tahoe I was just there last weekend. i could live without frisco, unless i'm feeding the homless or going shopping i'll never go there. I dont do either all that often just a few times a year.

cost of living is decent here, when i tell people that some of our fast food places pay 9.50 an hour for starters nobody believes me compared to their 5 or 6 something. apartments arent that bad, a really pretty decent ones 12 hundred a month, you can get by at like 7 hundred for a liveable one, and trashy start at like 4-5 hundred.

Home of the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks & Burn. Great food, crazy weather, and lots of bad drivers. Also has the highest concentration of beautiful women (and yes, Living4Him03, that means you too).

we are "known" for some casino, some fireworks, making a bunch of cars, moulds(exciting town huh?) and living beside detroit. we are also known for no one caring about our music scene. im obviously not serious about the last one. oh yeah we're also known for being a city with no enthusiasm. i been to other cities and for some reason windsor seems less motivated than other places. yes i know i got way off topic but i felt like it.

Well I am from Florida and we are famous for old people and oranges. Thats right, they have all the fun in CA then they some how are magnetically attracted to FL. I dont understand it, but this state must be the sitting on the largest natural deposit of Metamusal in the world. As for my part of Florida we are famous for the redneck. Now I dont mean the extremist ones, but there is a Tractor Supply Company just down the street from my house if that paints a picture. Infact I know a friend who has more car parts in his yard than most dealerships have in their cars.
Hey I am in Florida too. The area where I am at is known for some of its beaches (St.Petersburg/Clearwater) and the winners of the Stanley Cup, The Tampa Bay Lightning. Old Stanley is not just going to get a tan but he is probably going to get some toning too.^_^

I guess I will find out if anyone is from Massachusetts.

I went to college in Mass for one year and visit there occassionally.
And those folks come up to Maine a lot.
That is were my ex-fiance is from, as well.
Bottom line I know of what I speak.

These people DO NOT know how to drive.

I live in a city called Moncton, in the Province of New Brunswick, in teh country of Canada.

Famous for... uhh... insanely high gas prices (92.9 cents/litre), and the most Tim Hortons in one City I believe, per capita. (For those who dont know, Tim Hortons is a coffee shop).
We have awesomely cold winters, and pretty hot summers.

Other then that.... its a boring city.

Famous for ..... uhm, insanely high housing costs, worsening traffic, terrible job market....I could go on :p
I feel your pain.....I'm also a Bay Arean. We also have earthquakes, wildfires, floodings, most liberal local government ever (can't even watch FOX News in San Francisco)........But despite all that, this rat hole is our home. ;)
