Ted Turner Apologizes to "JESUS FREAKS"

Ted Turner apologized profusely yesterday for calling CNN staffers who
wore ashes on their foreheads for Ash Wednesday "Jesus freaks" -
saying his insulting remark was "thoughtless." But the nation's largest
Catholic civil-rights group questioned Turner's sincerity and demanded a
face-to-face meeting with the CNN honcho "to find out what's bugging
him."

Turner made the remark at a staff meeting preceding a party for retiring
anchor Bernard Shaw. Of the 300 people present, three or four had
ashes on their foreheads to mark the start of Lent. Sources said Turner
stared at one and said, "At first I thought you were in the earthquake" in
Seattle that day. "But I realized you're just Jesus freaks..."

I think when his time comes T.T. is gonna wish he had been a Jesus freak!! (His forehead isn't gonna be the only place he will have ashes unless he mends his ways!!) I heard that when someone asked him if he accepted that Jesus died for his sins he said "I never asked him to do it!!"THAT is scary!!!

Here's an update on the story:

Moneyline News Hour" co-anchorman Stuart Varney "resigned in a huff" after hearing that Turner
referred to CNN employees who had attended Ash Wednesday services as "Jesus freaks."
The New York Daily News reported today that Christian-bashing billionaire bigot Ted Turner's
mean-spirited, insensitive remarks prompted the CNN newsman to jump the sinking ship.

Varney's absence from the anchor desk raised eyebrows in the CNN newsroom Monday, when he
missed out reporting on a major story: the stock market's plunge. CNN business reporter Allan
Chernoff took Varney's anchor seat that night and again last night, telling viewers he was "sitting in
for Stuart Varney."

Rev. Falwell had his say, also:

Declaring that he is proud to be a "Jesus freak," the Rev. Jerry Falwell declared virtual war on
media mogul Ted Turner Friday. In a blast e-mail sent to his followers and supporting clergymen
throughout the U.S., Falwell said he was "sick and tired of people like Ted Turner and other
network executives ridiculing and mocking us, and paying no price for their hate-filled attacks."

Falwell was referring to Turner's recent remarks at a CNN staff meeting on Ash Wednesday. Upon
seeing CNN staff with ashes on their foreheads, Turner reportedly said, "What are you, a bunch of
Jesus freaks?" "It isn't far-fetched to believe that Mr. Turner and his network have a disdain for
Christian ideals," Falwell said..."

Although Mr. Turner DID apologize for making that statement, I'd like to point out a couple of things. One, he didn't really seem all the contrite when making the apology, more bored than anything else. And second, this is not the first time he has attacked christianity and then apologized. If I apologize for something and then do the same thing again, what does that say about my apology???

Sounds like Mr. Turner has been busy doing the devil's work by attacking God's children and we can see once again that when you put the enemy in God's hands, God will deal with that person through trials and tribulation. And if T.T. doesn't wake up soon he won't be wearing ashes on his head, but the mark of the beast instead. Then he'll be covered head to toe in ashes in a sulfur burning pitch black hell for all eternity.

I too heard over a year ago that Jane Fonda's chauffer led her to Christ and after being born again T.T. couldn't take it and it ultimately split them up since she wouldn't give up her new found life in Christ. Shortly, after she was named woman of the year by one of the big organizations, but I don't know which one.
