  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

With my first I had a few tiny spots where the skin broke a bit...I had 4 stitches...2 in one place and one each in the others. I tore a tiny bit because my daughter chose to come out face first AND chose to deliver both shoulders at the same time. But, no, I didn't have any "tearing"...only 3 places where the skin stretched a bit too far due to her delivery position. She was 7 lbs.1 oz.

With my second, I had no tearing or skin breaks or anything at all. She was 8 lbs 2oz.

I tore a little with:
#2 (My fault~ I wouldn't stop pushing when they told me to. The baby's head should Ease out, not be shoved out~ that contributes to tearing.)

#3 (I'm not sure why this time~ as my DD was born Unassisted in the hospital ;) and no one was helping me or saying anything... and I don't remember actively pushing at all.)

#8 (He presented with the full circumference of his head, so I was stretched much farther than I'd been with any of my other kids. I was in the water though (it was a home water birth) and that prevented me from getting anything more than some "skidmarks". lol)

I had 3rd degree tear (all the way to anal muscles but not into the acual rectum) Not sure how many stiches but when I asked as my MIL had 18 the doctor said 'you definately beat her!'

I am not sure why it was so bad, Kate shot out like a bullet, I was trying to push, wait, crown, push but she just came out all at once.

I had a 4th degree tear with my daughter, which I still can't figure out why because she was so teeny tiny.

me too!! :o My son was only 6 lb 14 oz. I blame it on a few factors, pushing through crowning, lay on my back, and my epidural causing the first two to happen.

I had a small tear with my first, no stitches and it healed nicely on it's own, with number 2 I had a second degree tear which required stitches - painful for a bit but healed ok, number 3 no tears just a couple of minor abrasions which have healed completely now.

I had an episiotomy with the first. That was sore for 6 months.
#2 tore a little, and she was smallest.
#3 was biggest (over 9 lbs) and didn't tear. Dr did apply some lubrication, and we tried to ease him out.
#4 tore a bit. Felt more like sandpaper than knife.
(had a couple/few stitches with each 1, 2, 4. The tears healed rather quickly, not like the episiotomy.)
