  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tax refund and errors.

I filed my IRS and state taxes with TurboTax as usual. There was no problem that I could detect.

However, it has been over two months, and I have not gotten my refund from IRS, nor any communication back from them.

In addition, I got a letter from my state, saying that I hadn’t paid any taxes, when as Turbo Tax showed, and, as my online account shows, I actually paid over $2000. So they are charging me a late fee.

It’s like they didn’t even see what was sent to them from
Turbo Tax.

I have had a hard time actually speaking to a live person when I try to discuss these tax issues.

Please pray for me to be guided as to what to do on my end, and for people to do what they are supposed to do on their ends. And that these issues will be resolved swiftly.

I'm not familiar with how the Turbo Tax payment platform works. If you haven't done so already, you should open your accounts directly with the IRS and State and make all payments there. If you see no payments posted then call Turbo. Also confirm the funds are out of your account and have a copy of the transaction handy. Prayers! :prayer:

EDIT! Make sure this entire thing is not a scam!! Its crazy out there !

We will pray, sir. Is there is an email or customer service contact information? Sounds like you need to get in contact w/ Turbo Tax. Is there a receipt it was submitted correct?

Will pray for a good resolution for you. After using TurboTax to calculate taxes, we are given a choice of mailing our return to the IRS via US mail or having TurboTax e-file for us. If you selected e-file and did not get an email confirmation that the IRS received your submission, something is a certainly amiss. Best wishes.

I will add encouragement to take care of this as soon as you can. Penalties for unpaid taxes will continue to grow with each passing day. The IRS is unforgiving. Back in the day when I was mailing in tax forms, one year I mailed just prior to the April 15 deadline but had insufficient postage on the envelope. Within a few days I had my tax form returned to me for insufficient postage. By then it was after April 15. Hoping for grace, I placed my original returned envelope into a new envelope so the IRS could see I had originally beat the deadline. It didn't matter to them. I still had to pay a penalty for the week or so taxes were paid late because I underestimated the weight of the mailing envelope. So, I recommend you do not delay in resolving this. Delay may only cost you more.

The thing is I did pay all my taxes.

According to my attorney and very large accounting/tax firm so did I, but it did not matter to them.
Praying for you on this issue.
