  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Oh my goodness...Really christians?? And this is the reason why people dont take christianity seriously. I expect a deist to go against Gods Word, and to tell you the truth I'm not the least bit suprised that a bunch of professing Christians go and follow the world as well, because we have a bunch of hyprocrite Christians in this nation. I guess you guys havent read
1 corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's
Now im not gonna go into detail about these scriptures because you christians should know this...this is milk! But I know the biggest problem, You dont have the true Word of God.

Lol, well Lady Knight sounds to me like your leaning on your own understanding ona couna you "feel quite fine about getting one". But your gonna do what you wanna do and I'm sure you know that we all reap what we sow.

Heh yes I suppose I will. And really its between me and God. Judge or condemn me as a hypocrite all you want I really dont care :) My relationship with God will not be changed. And seeing as to how its not a mark in remembrance of the dead I really dont see a problem. Because my body is God's I ask Him if I'm allowed to decorate it, i suppose the best example would be like asking a land lord if you can paint a room. And I know a good many men and women of strong Christian faith. Are they hypocrites? And what of the people who already have tattoos before becoming Christian? Are they any worse off? And as for "leaning not on your own understanding"...Thats exactly why I pray and talk to God about my decisions concerning a tattoo. And the True Word of God? I really dont know what you mean by that. Are you referring to the bible? Because I think my bible is pretty much the same as yours, though our understandings are different.

Well...The people of "strong Christian faith" I would say that they are in 1 or 2 of 3 categories... Category 1 ( Ignorant of Gods Word) 2 (Dont take Gods word seriously) or 3 ( Just dont care)...actually I think 2 and 3 could b lumped together...and about people who already have a tattoo, I cant really say because I dont know how the Lord would work in that and I dont believe they would be "worse off" I think that if they were unSaved then got Saved all sins are forgiven and to your question about "Are they hypocrites"...it doesnt matter what I say you said it urself "I really dont care" Its what God says Oh and you said you ask Him if your allowed to decorate it...Im curious What was His answer?...and the True Word of God I'm talking about is the KJV

Did you ask the Lord if you can "decorate" (mark) your body?...if so what did he say?... or did you ask him with your mind pretty much made up..

in case you did not know...The God that you say he doesn't mind you marking the temple of the holy ghost(wich he forbids in the bible) is the same God that will send your unsaved grandma to eternal fire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth...God is a very seriouse God...And to be honest...and if it is between you and God..why you telling everybody..and why are you asking evry1 els if they are getting one?...

they can say if they are getting one..but you dont care and pretty much just blow it off if somebody wants to share some truth with you about your choice... Your not stupid..maybe you are just un-learned..atleast i hope so..maybe you should read Matt. chpt.25 to see the other side of our father. because maybe at your church they only preach "love love love" wich is not bad at all, no way...But it is spoiling the saints of God in to thinking they have very little if not any accountability...Gods judgment on his children is not something hidden in the bible..it is clearly seen..but the churches are full of joel osteens today that they pervert the word of God...i believe you are a product of a christian in a fallen age where "they will not endure sound doctrine" ...God says his house house will be judged first. No, not judged on how many pearls and jewels you get..its if you get stripes on your back or jewels and crowns of glory

These last few posts make me want to go get inked right now.

And seriously. If you're going to throw that Leviticus verse around, I suppose you must also support stoning, buying slaves, not trimming the edges of beards, and that swine and shellfish are unclean?

I don't know if I'll get one, but if I do decide (with much prayer and consideration) i'd get probably a song lyric or probably even a song title (I listen to a lot of post rock/instrumental and they rarely use lyrics) of a band who's had much influence on me in hard times. Music is an important factor in my life. I don't believe that if you get a tattoo it should be void of meaning; I hate when people just get tattoos to get tattoos. Something small though, but where I could look at it, but also able to be covered up. Maybe someday though. Maybe :p

Wow, so dont even bother praying right? Its wrong just to even want one, right? And the God I worship, the one who flooded the whole entire earth, turned a woman to a pillar of salt, scorched Sodom and Gomorrah, also raised his friend from the dead, healed the blind and loved unconditionally. Yes we do realize that He is one and the same. And the true word is KJV huh? so what all the others are lies?

....I dont know why I keep responding to this lol, your not gonna chance your lifestyle just because some random person from internet land shows you scripture...but I have the free time so I'll do it

"Its wrong just to even want one, right?".....Yes...
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperatley wicked: who can know it?

There you go right there Jeremiah spells it out for us. Our hearts are wicked and our flesh goes off of our feelings and what "we wanna do" what we need to do is match our "feelings" with Gods Word...if what we want to do is contrary to what Gods Word says then we need to reconsider.

Yes the KJV is the Word of God, and not only is others a lie but its a lie straight from the pit of Hell.

I love how people can use scripture out of context to make it sound like what ever you want it to.

Also a question to earlier posts. Am I not allowed to have my own relationship with God? Some thing in the earlier posts has had me thinking. When you said I was leaning on my own understanding, am I not able to have my own relationship with God, and am I not allowed to hear from Him if I ask if its ok to get a tattoo? This isnt the old testament to where I have to go through priests any more or other people. Each Christian has his or her own individual relationship with God. There's no cookie cutter mold to try and press it in to.

I'm just gonna have to say I disagree with you and leave it with that. If you think I"m going to hell then so be it, what ever :) I dont have to care what you think, only what God's say on the matter is. I also dont know why you keep posting on here, and I dont know why I am ether. I'm not usually one who's a debater on here.

Of course your allowed to have your own relationship with your Father, you dont have to ask me that. We all have a relationship with the Lord if were Saved.

"am I not allowed to hear from Him if I ask if its ok to get a tattoo?"sureee God wouldnt kill you for asking I'm sure...but the thing is Lady Knight, God would never tell you to do something contrary to the Bible I know for a 100% fact that He wouldnt. and we also need to be careful when we say things like God told me and God said this to me.

and Yes I do believe that we all have a relationship with God but he commands all his children the same thing...he tells all his children the same things. God wouldnt tell me to get a tattoo and tell you that you couldnt...we would get the same answer

and I never said that I think your going to hell. The thing is that on Judgment day you will be without excuse because your sister told you and you rejected the truth, we will all have to stand before God and give an account for how we lived in this life...

2 Corinthians 5:9-11 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

I agree with you...We do disagree on this and cant really say that I apologize for going so frank with you, but you are one of my sisters in the Lord and we all need accountability.
smile.gif
So ya this has been a good talk, if you want to end it here then alright.

Im not perfect as you know I sin just like eveyone else but the Lord is definitly working in my life and I pray that you will allow him to continue to work in yours....Amen?

Now your making it look like i think God is just destuction. No. But its kinda stupid to want something that God says you cant have, lol hes not going to change his mind:dontcare: its like the wine thing..dont even look at it..it doesnt matter if you want to or not you can't look at it...The things God commands...are things you obey..you just try and wiggle your way out of Gods word and wiggle into the whole "God's Love" area. oh, and no. Its not wrong to want one (in a way) because ..its natural. Our flesh loves to do things that we should not. The trouble comes in when we walk after the flesh. There is an ongoing conflict in a christians life between the spirit and the flesh. "No there is not" you might say...well maybe you have been following the flesh so long there is no inner conflict...i know i have that flesh tugging at me alot.

Exactly. And back then people marked their flesh for different reasons than people would today.
