The only tattoos I would consider getting are the temporary stick-ons.

What if you get a Cross as a tattoo? I might get one but the process looks painful...Oh my goodness...Really christians?? And this is the reason why people dont take christianity seriously. I expect a deist to go against Gods Word, and to tell you the truth I'm not the least bit suprised that a bunch of professing Christians go and follow the world as well, because we have a bunch of hyprocrite Christians in this nation. I guess you guys havent read
1 corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's
Now im not gonna go into detail about these scriptures because you christians should know this...this is milk! But I know the biggest problem, You dont have the true Word of God.
Lol, well Lady Knight sounds to me like your leaning on your own understanding ona couna you "feel quite fine about getting one". But your gonna do what you wanna do and I'm sure you know that we all reap what we sow.
Did you ask the Lord if you can "decorate" (mark) your body?...if so what did he say?... or did you ask him with your mind pretty much made up..Heh yes I suppose I will. And really its between me and God. Judge or condemn me as a hypocrite all you want I really dont careMy relationship with God will not be changed. And seeing as to how its not a mark in remembrance of the dead I really dont see a problem. Because my body is God's I ask Him if I'm allowed to decorate it, i suppose the best example would be like asking a land lord if you can paint a room. And I know a good many men and women of strong Christian faith. Are they hypocrites? And what of the people who already have tattoos before becoming Christian? Are they any worse off? And as for "leaning not on your own understanding"...Thats exactly why I pray and talk to God about my decisions concerning a tattoo. And the True Word of God? I really dont know what you mean by that. Are you referring to the bible? Because I think my bible is pretty much the same as yours, though our understandings are different.
Lol, playing that card eh, Snoop-Dawg?These last few posts make me want to go get inked right now.
And seriously. If you're going to throw that Leviticus verse around, I suppose you must also support stoning, buying slaves, not trimming the edges of beards, and that swine and shellfish are unclean?
whatever, BACK THEN thats how the culture was..they stoned their kids if they disrespected their perants, fathers could kill their children and bury them if they messed up..and no one would say anything. you could also divorse your wife if she burnt your bread or folded your cloths wrong..theise were not things brought by the Lord Jesus himself..that was Just culture.. simple as that
...just to get you thinking: show me one scripture where Jesus commanded the stonning of somebody *WITHOUT A JUST CAUSE*
Now your making it look like i think God is just destuction. No. But its kinda stupid to want something that God says you cant have, lol hes not going to change his mindWow, so dont even bother praying right? Its wrong just to even want one, right? And the God I worship, the one who flooded the whole entire earth, turned a woman to a pillar of salt, scorched Sodom and Gomorrah, also raised his friend from the dead, healed the blind and loved unconditionally. Yes we do realize that He is one and the same. And the true word is KJV huh? so what all the others are lies?
its like the wine thing..dont even look at it..it doesnt matter if you want to or not you can't look at it...The things God commands...are things you obey..you just try and wiggle your way out of Gods word and wiggle into the whole "God's Love" area. oh, and no. Its not wrong to want one (in a way) because ..its natural. Our flesh loves to do things that we should not. The trouble comes in when we walk after the flesh. There is an ongoing conflict in a christians life between the spirit and the flesh. "No there is not" you might say...well maybe you have been following the flesh so long there is no inner conflict...i know i have that flesh tugging at me alot.
(chapter 7-8 it is really good! talks about the conflict *that should be* in a christians daily life)Lol, playing that card eh, Snoop-Dawg?whatever, BACK THEN thats how the culture was..they stoned their kids if they disrespected their perants, fathers could kill their children and bury them if they messed up..and no one would say anything. you could also divorse your wife if she burnt your bread or folded your cloths wrong..theise were not things brought by the Lord Jesus himself..that was Just culture.. simple as that
...just to get you thinking: show me one scripture where Jesus commanded the stonning of somebody *WITHOUT A JUST CAUSE*
is That the best you've gotExactly. And back then people marked their flesh for different reasons than people would today.
?..The reason of you wanting to get a tatoo does not matter
even if you're getting a tatooed cross to show your loyalty to christ. God said dont do it...Can't put it simpler than that
...and im not some "know-it-all" smarty pants>
<...I just read the word of God
, get good, real teaching from a deticated pastor
...i am still learning. But some stuff is just plain as day
