  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes. That, and roses are pretty and fairly tasteful.

Agreed. :) Plus there are so many different rose designs that you could think up.

If Christ is your everything, don't mutilate the temple of His Holy Spirit that is your body. "Christian" and "tattoo" are a contradiction in terms.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Christian getting a tattoo. Christ has not convicted me on my choice and I don't feel that He will be angry when I get my tattoo.
I also have 8 piercings and plan to get more. :)

Also, I urge you to look at which Forum you are posting in. This is an Older Teens Areas for people aged 15-19. A quick glance at your profile and the pictures you have uploaded tells that you are definitely NOT 15-19; therefore, you are not supposed to be posting in this Forum. Click HERE for a list of Forums called life Stages. I'm sure that you fit in at least one of those Forums. If you wish to debate with me on whether or not a tattoo is wrong, feel free to send me a PM or a VM.
God bless.

Leviticus 19:28 "'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."

Do what you want but this is in the Bible

Ecclesiastes 11:9 "Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment."

Actions have consequences, Tattoos were orginally evil magic, the needles can give you diseases, they are painful and costly and they will stay on you and it is adding to what God orginally made.

Revelation 22:19 "And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."

If you already have them you can be forgiven but please just take it to heart that it does say in the Bible not to have tattoos.

Please learn the context of Leviticus- it does not mean in Hebrew what it means in English. And if you're going to quote one part of Leviticus, quote all parts of it, ok?

I hold the same viewpoint you do but this verse in Revelation is in reference to people adding to the Bible (Maccabees, Ecclesiasticus, and other books)

That was Old Testament law. And back then, tattoos were symbols of satanic/demonic things.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 "Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment."

Actions do have consequences, but learn the facts first.
1. Ear piercings used to be evil magic, so by your logic, no one should get their ears pierced.
2. You are more likely to catch a disease from the tools at the dentist than from getting a tattoo.
3. Tattoos are not too terribly painful from what I've heard and there is nothing wrong with spending money on a tattoo as long as you aren't in debt or something like that.
4. Anything you do to improve your physical appearance is adding to what God gave you. Do you ever do anything to improve your physical appearance?

Revelation 22:19 "And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."

If you already have them you can be forgiven but please just take it to heart that it does say in the Bible not to have tattoos.

Revelation 22:19 has nothing to do with getting tattoos. I have not taken away from God's Word at all.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
If I get a Christian-based tattoo, that will be for God's glory. I know a lot of people who have been able to witness because of their Christian tattoos.

The body is a temple for the holy spirit. We see signs and symbols on churches all the time, and yet we don't look down on the people who put them up or at the church that declares its name.

I see nothing wrong with tattooing scripture on the flesh, for the bible is God's word and we belong to him. In some ways getting tattoos of scripture is declaring your submission to the Lord. We proclaim with our mouths that we love and follow Christ, why not do the same with our flesh? Witnessing in silence, tattoos can be used to glorify god and share his word with others. I have known many people to come up to me personally and ask me if they can read my tattoo. (My tattoo is 2 Timothy 1:7)

How great is that? :amen:

Tattooing does descend from pagan practices, but so do other things such as Easter and Christmas, which we use to worship God with. Tattoos can be beautiful works of art, and can most certainly be used to worship God with. Why should we frown down upon that?

Haha I find find people who say no to tattoos and that they are bad old testament people... Do you follow all the laws about meat and kosher and pigs and etc.. I doubt it, those are mostly old testament laws and some don't apply to the Christian faith any longer.. I disagree with you who say it's bad and etc...

I am totally against Tattoos, not only for the versus of the bible quoted by previous posters but for other reasons also.
When you accept a marking on your skin, wheather that be a tattoo or a peircing of some sort, you are showing a willingness to accept a mark. So when the anti-christ comes with his mark, wanting you too all accept unique ones...will you accept that too? will you be able to show restraint? will you just get it because its will become accepted..and that everyone is doing it? ..how will you be able to draw the line? from what ive heard from people with tattoos..they are addictive, once youve got one..you want more.

God created man in his image, and women in mans. How great is our God? He has made us in his image...how great is that? Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and you dare defile the temple? its graffiti! God has made us perfect, and i for one, can not make a better job that the Lord.

hi! So this fall I plan to get my first tattoo. I'm going to get cherry blossoms coming down from my ankle across the top of my foot. I like the beauty and also the symbolism of cherry blossoms. In Japanese and Chinese culture, cherry blossoms represent feminine power, beauty, love, and the transitions of life.

Do you guys want/have any tattoos?

sometimes i wonder if you people even read the bible.

Le 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am GOD.

Try reading the verses around Levitcus 19:28 and tell me what you think also. Verse 19 says
19 “‘Keep my decrees.
“‘Do not mate different kinds of animals.
“‘Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.
“‘Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

or verse 26-27

26 “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
“‘Do not practice divination or seek omens.
27 “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

So if you are wearing clothes made by two different types of materials. Cotton/polyester blend or planting corn and beans in the same field you are the same as someone with tattoos.

Or verse 26-27 Eating meat with blood still in it. Medium Rare steak? Or getting a hair cut or trimming your beard.

All of these rules were from God to see who follow him by his strict commands in the Old testament. Once Jesus came and died for us he put an end to all of the things like this.
