Yes; sounds a fascinating country. A long Christian heritage also, in general terms. I guess that people who profess a Biblical understanding of things but under the auspices of local congregations not under the Gregorian church are likely to face hostility for supposed 'patriotic' reasons (not unlike in Greece).

I think it's in the Middle East in areas where there are strongly mixed religious populations that faith tattoos are especially popular.

No, that is incorrect. We have the new covenant where grace is what matters and going right by each other. I also wear clothing of mixed fibers, eat shell fish and pork and other such things you refer to. Oh and have gay friends and am transgender, so it's pretty awesome Jesus came and saved us all through grace or I'd have a difficult time of it.

And just a heads up, I believe you're saved too, whether you believe it or like it or not, cause God is love and not vengeance.

One of my favorite scenes in a move, an Atheist and a Christian are talking, the Christian asks him what happens if you're wrong? The Atheist answers, then I win.

I'll end this off branch topic after this as its off topic, but all we really have is faith or belief or lack there of, I only started to believe in something after getting sober and its been quite a journey.

Oh and back on topic, I get my final tattoo fixed, it was of a faded dragon, it will be redone and the Maltese Cross will be added, as I'm a firefighter. It'll look pretty awesome when completed.

I loved to see him thrive in Christ now knowing where he came from and his tattoos were an integral part of that story.

For some ppl tattoos define their sometimes traumatic personal faith based story in a very immediate way; for others, having it done is a natural event. Although in North America it used to be a man thing yet now 59%- 70% or more of parlor clients are female, which strongly suggests that for many it's a mainstream form of personal expression.
