• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

taking valium for the wrong reasons

I am a addict of weed and have been with out it for 4 months i have recently been given Valium for my social anxiety but i feel i wanted them for the wrong reasons not just to make me calm i had the choice of other medication that would have kept me calm .
I am on 5mg of Valium a day but so far i have been taking them everyday because i want to feel something from them and i want to be calm because i cant cope with things like going out but the only time me going out i have took them is when i went to the dentist because i was feeling very stressed by going there the other times have been at night when i have been in the house.
I have been on Valium before this time and i took them everyday and they stopped me taking them because the dr didnt want me to get addicted to them am unsure if i am or not
I can see this becoming a problem and i think i need to talk to my dr about this as i think i do have a problem but i cant get an appointment with my regular dr until next week .
While posting this post i have asked my husband to throw the Valium out as i feel that i am taking them for the wrong reasons and i have a problem with them
