Sadly, in the U.S. at any rate, not being able to force their religion upon others is often seen as "persecution" by some Christians.

This has always struck me as odd. The U.S. Constitution specifically forbids the endorsement of religion by the government. Yet some people see the enforcement of said law as persecution for some reason.

Oh boy ... Is thread on a fast track to lockdown , or what?

I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been. Two other threads have locked me out today. One of those was moved to the Xian only creationism board.

Nice to have answers on that topic rather than just endless snipping against the Bible as some might prefer. I like the premise for this thread! :)
Thank you!

The premise is, indeed, good. However, that's as far as it goes. There are questions posed but there are no answers being given in return. Do you think that is because the OP cannot answer or because the OP refuses to answer?

1. The OP is just a post... it is not interactive - you cannot ask it questions. Did you mean to say "the author of the OP" ??

2. I do agree that I prefer to enjoy threads about questions that go dodged/unanswered in the realm of blind faith evolutionism.

3. But it is nice to see that Creationism is fully supported by the Bible all the same.

OP = Original Poster. Sometimes it is used to refer to Original Post, but that's not what it actually means.

Now there's a claim I nerver heard before--that right-wing Evangelical Protestantism originated 6000 years ago.
at least 3500 years...Moses was first creationist writing down what happened. Although all other cultures seem to say similar things, but the farther from middle east the more telephoning they get it wrong. All cultures over ALL the earth say a global flood happened. ALL. Many cultures believe a sky god created humans, but the farther in distance, the more distorted the story gets. American indians have myth of global flood, but some believe we came from underground.

When you say ALL cultures have a global flood myth I think you probably mean ALL cultures except the ones that don't, right? While there are many cultures that have a flood myth, some of those are local floods. And many cultures do not have a flood myth at all.

nah since I was kid, loved science and mythology. All the mythologies, except norse, have global flood, you could include norse as ice age, though, cow licking existence into being.

I'm not sure why other cultures would have a global flood story in the first place, since they all perished in the Flood.

If they had one at all, it would have to have come from word of mouth, and given the fact that the stories differ so much in detail (names, places, who was on the ark, the ark itself, etc.), I can only assume they made these stories up to make fun of what really happened.

Shem, who lived right up to the time of Jacob, was always around to set the story straight.

Some time ago, I made up this little conversation to exemplify my point:

Shem: What's this trash you wrote, Nimrod; are you okay!?
Nimrod: Don't start on me again, uncle; you've always looked down on us Hamites.
Shem: That's garbage too! You used to be a mighty hunter before the LORD, what went wrong?
Nimrod: You think you Shemites are so much better than us, just because my grandfather was cursed for what his father did to your mother in that tent that day.
Shem: I watched you grow up, Nimrod, and how you used to love the LORD so much; but somewhere along the line you went astray and broke away from the rest of us and went and formed your own little empire. Well ... you do what you want, but as long as I live, I'll make sure my eyewitness testimony trumps your lies.
Nimrod: And what makes you an authority on the Flood over me?
Shem: I was there! Remember??? I was on the Ark ... you weren't!
Nimrod: Oh, that's right ... somehow I forgot ... what with there being no evidence and all.
Shem: [facepalms]

Let's be honest, there aren't really any answers to questions about creationism because creationists have no way to test their ideas re: creationism. Which also seems to be why every creationist these days makes up their own version of it, often with blatant contradictions with other creationists.

But we all agree on one thing:

IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED ...

And if 100% consensus doesn't mean anything, then please don't throw dissensus at us like it means something.

You need to do a lot more research into cultural mythology. You even admit that Norse mythology doesn't realIy have a global flood story. Japan, for instance, has no flood story. I could name others, but just those examples demonstrate your claim to be bogus.

Please don't make unsupported claims which you know to be false. It makes you sound like a dishonest poster.

I'm not one for putting much stock in what other countries wrote about something that occurred in the pages of the Bible.

For instance, if Japan wrote that the sun was darkened for two hours on the day Jesus was crucified, I would consider it either a mockery, or a lie of the devil, since the Bible says it was three hours, not two.

Here is the Philippines account of the Flood:

Once upon a time, when the world was flat and there were no mountains, there lived two brothers, sons of Lumawig, the Great Spirit. The brothers were fond of hunting, and since no mountains had formed there was no good place to catch wild pig and deer, and the older brother said: "Let us cause water to flow over all the world and cover it, and then mountains will rise up."

Stuff like this is blasphemy, in my opinion.

The "Great Spirit's" name is "Holy", not "Lumawig," who was probably a fallen angel (read his bio).

Isaiah 57:15a For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;

Then show me a Christian who doesn't believe: IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED ...
