I think I'll hang around for a few days longer. I don't think God wants me to leave just yet, so I'm gonna pray while I'm off work and make a decision next week.

God Bless you one and all for the kind words and encouragment.

I love you all, and may God bless each and every one of you richly and abundantly.

I am glad you are going to stay.

I know we have locked horns on some topics...but you have not offended me, ever, and I am sorry if I ever made you feel unwelcome here. I know there was a post you made a few months ago, just some song lyrics that were meaningful to you, and they were meaningful to me, too, and helped me focus on the Lord. Which is why we're here, really, to edify each other. No matter what our disagreements on minor issues we are One in Christ and we are siblings in Him. If we tear each other down, we need to look at what we're doing. I hope you are OK, you just sounded really depressed in the OP.

Aw man...he's back. :p

Kidding, of course Dean. I'm very happy to hear that you're staying. You're a real blessing to this forum, and I've learned a good deal from your posts. I hope you'll stay with us for a good while longer.

Maybe you can hang out in the B/A section for alittle while until you feel up to stepping on other people's toes again...:)

Thanks for sticking around.

It is becoming apparent that my Baptist views are not welcome on the forum and even in this section. Evidently, teachings from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary are all wrong. Everything I was taught is wrong.

I have offended so many people in this section (B/A) as well as other sections also because of my "faulty" Baptist views. I honestly did not know how wrong I was. Apparently I am wrong on everything.

There are those in this section who believe that "the husband of one wife" no longer applies. I was taught it does. I was wrong here again.

I was taught that living together outside of marriage was wrong and was a sin. Yet in the forum, because "doctrine" says otherwise, I am wrong. See here, I am wrong again.

The ideas and theology I was taught from the 60's and up, I have learned are all wrong. I was taught never to compromise God's word as a preacher, yet there is a movement even in this section to modernize the scriptures to reflect modern views. Here again, I was wrong.

It is sad to me that the church which thought enough of me that I fulfilled these qualifications:

"Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless." -1 Tim 3:9-10

Now I must go back and tell them I was wrong.

Because of my traditional and Baptist viewpoints I have offended a great many people. It is with a very heavy heart that I announce that I will be taking a leave from the forum. And on a night where I was asked to preach in my home church, only to find out that I am wrong in so many areas of Baptist faith. As of Wednesday morning (7/5/06) at 5 am EST, I will gone from the forums in an effort to keep the peace.

So I ask you good people to forgive me for offending you. I ask that you forgive me of my shortcomings also. I may check from time to time, but who knows for sure. All I know is that I did not want to spread disharmony and it seems that during the last 11 months that is all I have done. So once again I ask that you forgive me and all my shortcomings.

One other point, since I have commented in so many threads, if you would like for me to remove my comments from your thread(s), please pm me telling me which ones and what numbers my posts were and I will delete them promptly.

A brother in Christ,
DeaconDean

I would be so sad if I didn't have your posts to encourage me anymore.

That's basically what I do. When GT gets too hot and heavy I come back to B/A & SR for respite.

I just don't venture into GT (I think I've posted in a grand total of one thread there in all my time on CF). Non-Christian religions is about as far as I go.

Gee, if there are people that believe adultery and fornication are not sinful, then this is not a Baptist forum nor a Christian one and probably needs to be moved to the "open to all members".

I hope you are being sarcastic when you keep saying you are wrong and have been "taught wrong". You sound on the right track to me....and frankly, for someone who does not come to this forum that much (as a Christian who attends a Baptist church) that post seems kind of scary if people do in fact believe that.

Edit to add: generally speaking about mods (and remembering this is a Christian Forum first) it is very disheartening when mods can delete your posts or say your flaming just b/c someone of a lack of faith gets their feelings hurt. It's like they still have to abide by the rules, but then on the other hand you'd THINK the Christians would be a little bit more protected than they are around here.

I almost at all never came back
But then some of the mods
Tried to talk me out of it
And they urged me to stay
In the end, I did stay and it has been
Much more better! So please my friend,
Rethink your decision! Please come back!

Yes Sister, I was being a bit sarcastic in my remarks. I could not think that Baptist Seminaries could be wrong. Like I said, I was raised with old fashioned ideas from an old fashioned family that raised me and my siblings in church. Looking back, I don't think there is any way I could turn my back on Baptist theology. If I could, what would I turn to that would be right? Nothing in my honest opinion can match what Baptist theology does. And somebody said earlier, I need to grow thicker skin. It's just that my love for the Lord, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and baptists in general, I include you Anabaptists also, makes it kinda hard not to take it on the chin when we Protestants get told how wrong we are. But hey, I need to face up to the fact that for the last 500 years that has been happening and in most likelyhood, will not stop until we are all one body in Him, minus the denominations. If you think about it, they make fun of us but in reality, the Catholics think they wil be only ones in heaven. lol I think I will adopt a line I heard in a cartoon movie once, Transformers: The Movie, they would say: "Till all are one." That is a good motto.

Anyway, to one and all, thank you so much. You all provide encouragement, kindness, and a helping hand when needed. Someday I hope I repay you all. May God bless you all richly.

Sincerly,
DD

Wow...just wow...I cannot believe that someone other than myself is actually aware of the existence of the Transformers movie. I thought that I and my old elementary school friends were the only ones who had ever seen it. Anyway, this certainly brings back quite a few memories. But I have to admit that "till all are one" was wasted on the movie, because there never was any truce between the Autobots and Decepticons, or anything. In fact, the TV series went on for quite a few episodes, and the two clans were still fighting at the end. Nonetheless, Transformers is the television show of God for the simple fact that it is from the late eighties.

There's a movie coming out later this year about Tramsformers. I saw the preview when we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean the other night. I was excited. It looked cool. My son loved Transformers.
