  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I was little say four or five I used to pray for the Devil. All I knew was that he had been Gods' favorite Angel and that he had rebelled. I felt really sad that someone who had meant so much to the lord would turn his back on him. So I prayed that the devil would repent and they could be friends again. Hey I was five everything was so simple then. Now here's the question. How bad does a person have to be for you to not be willing to pray for them? Will you pray for anyone you see that needs it or only the ones you love? Who is your neighbor?
I think it's sad that as a child I was willing to pray for even the devil and now I barely find time to pray for people I love.

When I was growing up (and I don't mean from a child) I had bad feelings for someone that I am ashamed to admit. These feelings were fired by the way this person treated me, and it went on for years.

Finally The Lord opened my eyes to this poison that was overtaking my heart, and I prayed for forgiveness for myself and for the person that had treated me objectionaly.

Sadly, many people never come to that understanding.

If only we could apply our hearts to the wisdom of God and follow His every guidance.

Mt 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Mt 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Mt 5:45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Mt 5:46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Mt 5:47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

Mt 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Mt 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Mt 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
