We actually went over this one before.

It's the 12 Tribes of Israel, and they have OT precedent.

1 Kings 7 -

23 ¶And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

Symbol by itself without any meaning is neutral, neither good nor evil.
But when people give it a meaning it is a different story. Christ's prophets give those symbols you posted beautiful meanings. It always points to Christ one way or another.
I am glad I entered Salt Lake City Temple. It is incredibly beautiful and I can tell you I BELIEVE that Christ walked there. Christ blessed and sanctified this Temple and every LDS Temple.
Every Temple is His House. House of the Lord.

Oh, I forgot to tell: every symbol that is sanctified by God is of God.
God sanctified those symbols with that meaning that points to Christ. But how would you know this?

I am glad that now you KNOW that symbols without meaning neither good nor evil.
LDS symbols point to Christ. This is all that matters to me.
LDS symbols are good because they point to Christ and they are sanctified by Christ because of their true meaning.

2Co_6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
1Co_6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.


The old Jewish sanctuary and the temples were built according to the blueprints God had given, which were made according to the original in heaven. They were instituted by God for a reason and for a time until Jesus came to fulfill all that the sanctuary was all about. No further temples were needed, we have churches --for gathering together to praise God and learn of Him. The original churches were peoples homes and just gathering together outside. For convenience we also have baptisteries---going down to the rivers edge in the middle of winter can be a problem. However, the river was good enough for Jesus. I doubt He considers all these fancy, ornate cathedrals, churches and baptisteries to be necessary. Everything in the sanctuary had a purpose. right down to the color of the threads used to make the veils and curtains--and were specifically for the temple only. A simple container for water for immersion baptism is all that is needed. God is not honored by gold and pearls---the expensive oils used by Mary to anoint His feet were used on Him, not the disciples, nor anyone else. Sorry, but I don't think Jesus would step foot in that baptistery, nor in one of your temples---but then I don't think He's pleased with a lot of these fancy, ornate buildings we call churches. Everything in the early sanctuary and temples pointed to the coming Messiah---He came, we are now His temples, and we are to take care of our own temples and each other looking forward to His second coming to take us home. Everything in this world will be destroyed, and the earth will be made new---none of these things will stand. Every temple, every cathedral, every church, will be gone.

Do you have any Bible verses about this, or are these claims extra-Biblical? (Note: 1Cor16:19 and Rev21:22 are both talking about the Apostasy, not proper use of temples/worship of the Lord)

Don't know which claims you mean---you just have read the bible to see that people would gather in peoples homes, or go down to the river to meet.
What apostasy are you talking about?? There is no Apostasy in this--We are each the temple of the Lord---That is what it means
1Co 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

There is no apostasy being talked about here---this is the New Jerusalem--the real New Jerusalem bujilt by God that will descend from God and come to rest on the newly remade earth---

After all the Apostles were gone many parts of the Gospel(the Truth) were gone, priesthood was gone.
Many wolves in sheep skins appeared and taught false doctrines.

Symbolically we are temples of God. It means that we have to respect our bodies the way we would respect temples of God(holy places).
But it has nothing to do with universal apostasy that happened by the end of the first century.

Which your church has to keep repeating in order to make your bretheren believe it. Not one shred of evidence to support. For it to be true, Jesus has to be a liar.

Maybe you were, but I wasn't alive when this alleged apostasy occurred. But then, despite the definition of apostasy being presented to you, you still can't comprehend what apostasy actually means outside of the incorrect lds definition.

There was no universal apostasy---there are differences of interpretations of scripture. That is the actual scripture, every denomination has the same scriptures. Yours is the only one that has a whole set of different scriptures written by one man who claims an angel of light gave it to him. Your is not a matter of interpretation, it is a matter of a whole different bible. The writings of JS you claim as scripture---no Christian church agrees. Though we all may have different interpretations, we still have basically the same bible, agreed to by all. The Dead Sea Scrolls proved their accuracy and every finding since has agreed---no apostasy---God has protected His word and the gates of hell have not prevailed against it. We are the temple of God---it is His Holy Spirit that dwells in us, that is why we must take care of ourselves, our bodies our minds. We are His Holy dwelling place. The churches are where those temples gather to praise Him and learn of Him and learn to love each other, and set up ways to help each other through this life. Not a single building on this earth will be left standing after Christ returns and takes His followers home----the whole earth will be made new-----the New Jerusalem will not be made by man in Missouri, it is made by God and He will send it down to a remade earth. You have been lied to. Ge back to the real scriptures, the real Word of God.

If you can't see the changes from the original churched christ to Christianity today then you need to open your eyes. There were apostles and prophets. There was the laying on of hands to give priesthood authority. Christ gave Peter the keys of the priesthood authority to run the church. Where are these keys now? They baptized for the remission of sins. They baptized to show their commitment to Christ that symbolizes the death and resurrection and being buried as one man and coming forth a new man. It was important synths time of the apostles. Where is it today. Where is the knowledge of what happens to those who live and die without ever hearing of Christ? Do you know what will become of them. They were placed at a time or in a area that had no knowledge of the savior and yet are to be judged as if they knew.

Please provide chapter and verse where Jesus layed his hands on Peter to give him priesthood authority.

The "what happens to those who live and die without ever hearing of Christ?" line is a facade to hide behind in order to believe in something other than the Gospel. Lds, athiests, etc. use this lame excuse to justify their position. Romans chapters 1-5 shed light on the topic.

Are you an atheist? Only atheists demand some kind of evidence.
But the Bible testifies that apostles of the first century who LIVED ON EARTH were the foundation of the Church.
When LIVING apostles were gone from the Earth, the foundation was gone from the Earth. No foundation on Earth no Church on Earth. It is so easy to see.
