Surprise, I think I did it!

I accepted the coming age of the forties like:

  • a swan gliding on to a calm lake

  • a hedgehog into a new environment, a curled up and prickly

  • I was at the eye of a twister, awaiting the end of the calm

  • an armadillo, unsure but determined to withstand

Artistic? yes, very. My strength is my imagination and being able to use it in my sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting, rugmaking, all of the hand crafts including woodworking. I have a wide variety of interests and if I don't know how to do these crafts I teach myself.

Are you artistic? If so, what is your strength (i.e. painting, sewing, carpentry)?

Do you have Sunday dinner plans? I'll be making a penne pasta in a simple pomodoro sauce tossed with grape tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese. Maybe a nice glass of Pinot Noir or Sangviovese. Simple but yummy!!

Had no plans sunday but a road trip back to the home front. It went pretty well too. Now we are snowed or iced in. The weather has closed school today and tomorrow. I can't drive out cause I live on a hill so we survive. Another reason to keep the pantry stocked.:D

Do you have a favorite place that you'd like to retire to?

Personally, I'm narrowed down to Traverse City, Michigan or Asheville, North Carolina. Of course, I'd have to talk my church into moving with me - otherwise I stay where I am.

OK - now I don't mean this to be a morbid question, but . . . . assuming that all family members are safe, what one thing would you take with you if you had to evacuate your house in an emergency (i.e. housefire)?

(Since most people say photographs, assume they're ok and choose something else!)

If all my family were safe and all the photos were safe then I guess the one thing I would take with me would be my favorite Bible.

I've seen the "Bible" answer a lot, seems to be about the most popular response.

Where do you get your news? (newspaper, tv, radio, online?)

What is one of your favorite "spare time" activities (i.e. reading, gardening, watching tv)?

If you're a tv watcher, which do you prefer - reality tv (Survivor, American Idol), sitcoms (no examples - don't watch them), dramas (L&O, CSI) or how to (i.e. HGTV, Food Network)? Or do you watch the older shows (Cosby, MASH, Bonanza) on Nick at Nite and/or TV Land?
