One of the things I'm studying at college is how to start/operate support groups.
In this town there is Alcoholics Anonymous. And that's it.
No Narcotics Anonymous, No eating disorder classes for adults OR teens, No NAMI or mental illness support group for mentally ill OR their family members.
I pray that God will use me to influence people who have the leadership abilities and the knowledge and compassion to start these groups.
God already showed me the tiny building He wants to use. It has been for sale for about 8 years. I drive by it every day. About 3 months ago He spoke to me about that building.
People don't want to go to a church building/ Sunday School room for a 12 step class about addictions and disorders. It's intimidating.
Please, Lord, guide me in this and choose specifically each leader and group member that You foresee. This is your project, Lord.
As your people, we need to reach out with compassion in our own communities!!!!
Worldwide mission trips are wonderful...but there are people within out arm's reach who need You desperately!!!!!
