Isn't that the way it is done?
Ignore what you don't like, and twist what doesn't quite fit, so you can have your own version of what the Bible says or doesn't say?

Heck, if I wanted to prove that men are inferior, I could probably do it...given a bit of time.
Again, I'd have to ignore a boatload of scriptures...
And I'd have to put my own special spin on the verses I do choose to use.
But I'm pretty sure it could be done.

For instance, I once had a dear little old lady tell me that the reason God made men the overseers of the church was to keep them out of trouble. The implication was that they need to have something to keep them occupied, like little kids.

Do you think you have some appreciation, or understanding of why I don't believe? I mean, I could certainly dive in deeper and expose you to all the crazy questions I have up here. But can you see my thought process?

Have you ever spent any time with Christians? If you have, you probably know that it is usually Mom who sees to it that the kids get up and go to church...lots of times, Dad doesn't even bother to go with them.
After all...Sunday is his day to "sleep in"...

How am I suppose to answer that? I don't know you I don't know your life's past and I don't like to make assumptions or even educated guesses. There could be many different reason as to why but it would be pointless for me to try to guess

Many people not only try, but state as though to inform me why I'm not a Christian, or why I am an atheist with far less information than you've had.

There is no way anyone else can tell what is in your head or in your heart.
If you want us to try to answer your "crazy questions" you have to ask them.

Maybe eventually I will. But today was just to post three threads with three different questions with the ultimate goal of asking in each one why the responders think I'm an atheist. Each one approaches my reason for disbelief from a different angle. I wanted to see if it at the end it was still reasonable for participants to argue for atheism from hatred of God, or desire to rebel, or whatever other excuse, or whether there would be some understanding of why I don't believe. Typically there is not. But this was a new approach: Maybe people will recognize the thought process.

Some atheists do seem to get quite upset at the thought...although I have never quite understood why...

Christians are morally superior to non-Christians. In what other ways are Christians superior to non-Christians?

I don't think Christians are morally superior to anyone. We should be, but I am afraid we are not. We don't accept the Lord because we want to become more moral, but because believing in him it is the only thing for us to do. After that we all have a journey to make towards holiness, but I am afraid some of us are rather further away from it than we might like.
