CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, I saw the Sunset Contest-- fantastic entries by everyone.
I cannot say I think the second one is any better than the first one. I love the silohuetted birds in the first one, but the sun isn't nearly as *powerful* in that one compared to the second.
Personally I like the first one better strictly because of the birds.

I liked them both a lot, it was a tough decision. I think the thing I like more about the second one is the texture of the beach and the water receding from it. On think I didn't like about either of them was the houses in the upper left. I would have preferred if they hadn't been there, or at least silhoutted better. I do a lot of photoshop fixes, but I didn't want to alter anything for the contest. Thanks for your comments.

I like the first one best. As far as Photoshop, that is as much in photography these days as a digital camera.

I personally feel the same way. Now dh will argue with me that in the darkroom you can still make changes very similar to PS (of which yes, he is right).
But I prefer no alterations even though it's quite the trend these days. Have you ever noticed how PS'd calendars and all are?
