Sunday school only?

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has tried attending Sunday school only and skipping the sermon? I am considering trying this as I think that the structure of a class combined with the limited amount of noise and socialization might make the idea of attending church a little more manageable and realistic. Additionally, there are very well defined start and end times, as Sunday school is typically sandwiched between early and late morning sermons. There might be a few minutes of unstructured socialization time, but it would quickly dissipate at a set time, thus clearing out the chaos and making a clear path of exit Has anyone tried this? How did it go? Thanks!

If you think it will make attending church easier go ahead and try it. It certainly can't do any harm.

I don't see the spiritual value in this. At least the sermon in some church groups could be of value. I prefer adult Bible study groups where all saints may participate in learning the mind of God together.

I have a nephew who has acute autism. My nephew can't stand certain noises, but he very much likes worship music, and often wears headphones with a recorder playing his favorites. But autism is a very wide range of different symptoms, so you will have to figure out your specific needs. Personally, I prefer Biblical teaching and reading of scripture, as that seems to me is the greatest power for the healing of the soul.
