  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not sure if this is the best place to put this or not.. but i'm kinda inexperienced in parenting. But I thought you guys might be able to help.. or relate to this. My boyfriends sons mom dropped him off this morning. Said he threw up twice.. once at 5:30 and again at 6:30 am. Then she brought him over. He slept for a few hours.. and threw up again at about 11 am or so. We aren't sure what the source is. But we know kids do this sometimes. But we remembered his mom texted us yesterday saying she took him swimming and he was pretty badly sunburnt... even though she put sunscreen on him. He is very fair skinned and gets exhausted fast.. red face and all when playing outside for even a very short amount of time. so anyway our first thought, was maybe it's sun poisoning. But my boyfriend looked at his back and said it didn't look that red.. he said he probably wouldn't have even noticed it. But knowing how exhausted he can get from playing.. and everything. Is it possible it could still be sun poisoning causing him to get sick? We can't get him to eat or drink anything.. no water or pedialite or anything. Any ideas, thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated??

Thanks!

my sister in law had sun poisoning when she was younger, my mother in law said that her skin was white, she had to be hospitalizedfor several days because of it. Just keep him hydrated, and if you are really worried get him seen by a doctor.

first of all how old is he and does he experience dizziness or light headedness??

i would recommend getting him to a dr. this happened to me just recently and i passed out and was rushed to the ER. not a good experience. i was severly dehydrated and had 2nd and 3rd degree sunburns. even if his burns arent that bad you must get him to drink water and gatorade, if he wont especially then you need to take him to the dr. it still took me 3 days to get rid of the light headed and nausuasness after being in the ER. if he is having pain or swelling try aspirin or ibuprofen if making him throw up more contact dr.
