  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So rather than want to be happy, well and Loved we are supposed to delight in suffering-even ask for it?
For those who are mentally healthy- yes. One can be transformed and made holy because of the crosses they have carried in life. Suffering changes us and teaches us a lot about who we are and what we need to change in our lives to become what Jesus redeemed us to be. We have the choice to accept this or to reject this looking at everything as a unfair curse from God. If you do that- you end up bitter and miserable knocking on despair's door.

Those who suffer from mental illness must seek help and healing. It’s a different situation. You can however, find peace in the midst of the storm by offering your struggles up to God for poor sinners and as a act of reparation.

Look at it like an alcoholic- we know he can not remain a alcoholic and call this suffering but he can cooperate with God’s grace and do everything in his power to be healed and offer the pains of giving up drinking to God for the conversion of poor sinners. Then we learn the value of our suffering because it is redemptive, it draws down grace.

Same with mental illness- we must seek healing because of the danger mental illness puts us in but the suffering that healing brings can be used for the glory of God.

May I add also that it’s not like we would ask God to make something bad happen so we can suffer but rather we are prepared to accept what ever God wants to bring us. That is a huge difference than looking for something bad to happen so we can suffer.

But can't we convert Sinners and help people become Holier even if we don't suffer? Why must we suffer if our intentions are good and Jesus already paid that debt?
To save someone I care about must I be prepared to accept life as it is and just offer up all my worries and fears and loneliness etc?

And ever since I was a child I have felt very very lonely. My Faith is all that keeps me going but I don't know how to move forward without feeling selfish or like I am not doing Gods' will. I've been ill so long I don't know if God wants me to be ill so I CAN offer sufferings up for others but if that is the case why must one human suffer to save others or themselves???Can't our thirst for God and the thirst we have to see others we care about Love God work just aswell?

Why can't God convert everyone today? Surely it would be in His Will for all to be near Him?
