Right. I mean Jesus died for ALL of our sins. Past, present, and future. There isn't a single sin that God hasn't died for and covered.

Right. Sometimes its schizophrenic people like me too. I'm much more likely to die of suicide than any other means. I don't blame schizophrenic people for killing themselves either. Its a horrible illness to have to live with.

I believe that God can forgive mental illness. Some things cannot be helped. Jesus died for asll our sins on tyher cross.

Absolutely He can forgive an action done because of mental illness. My loved one was not a Christian when I knew her, but as I believe God gave me assurance that I will see her again, I believe that something happened in those last minutes between her and God and that she did get saved before doing what she did.

He will not cast out any who come to Him regardless of the circumstances.

I view her as like the thief on the cross.

Mate I say this with all respect and love. If you commit suicide that is the same as losing your eternal life and throwing away your salvation. There is no free pass for willful sin. The theif on the cross sought God' forgiveness before he died but he did not commit suicide.

Yes it's not only depression that makes someone more susceptible to suicide. I am sorry you have to deal with schizophrenia. It sounds like a horrible illness.

For those who can understand it, God dies on the cross in order to show forth the infinite depths of His Love for and forgiveness of us all. His death saves us because He overcomes death by His own death, and rises up from it, thereby destroying its power. His death saves because it contains the seed of His (and therefor everyone else's) Resurrection. The forgiveness was always there, it's just that our ability to know that forgiveness ourselves is lacking. With this knowledge, that comes by grace, through faith, we ourselves overcome both sin and death.

It isn't fun but I've had symptoms of it all my life. I don't know what its like to be "normal" so there's nothing I can compare it to. Many people with the illness commit suicide because they cannot deal with it. I guess I've learned to deal with it. I only really get psychotic episodes once every few years. I get manic episodes maybe three times a year. But my manic episodes are manageable. I'm glad for medical advances in medication. I'd probably be in a mental hospital for the rest of my life without it.

i believe that every sin is covered by the cross but this does not mean we can get away with sin, sin will stop when we go to heaven.

Now suicide is a form of murder and Scripture teaches that a murderer has no eternal life in them. 1 John 3:15. However we know from scripture that we can kill people and be forgiven from that. David and Paul are classic examples of ex-murderers who still ended up being saved.

Now Hebrews 4:12 teaches us that God cuts sin out of our spirit. i think here we find the answer to the question. The murderer in a suicidal person is cut off by the Word so that the rest of the spirit of the person can be saved. This happened to David and Paul as well, for neither were murderers after they repented God cut that sin out of them.

When we understand that murder is punished and the need to murder will never be in Heaven then we understand that the purification of our spirit belongs to God. i wholeheartedly believe suicidal believers will be in heaven, but the suicidal need and urges that dwelt in the suicidal believer will not follow them there but be cut of by The Word along the way up.

Peace.

That being said, Orthodox Christians despise human death, never condoning the taking of life through an act of suicide. We will always insist upon leaving the time of our departure to the will of God, and will do our best to help anyone suffering from illnesses, using whatever means are available to us.

You can choose to believe God's WORD or not. I was only sharing the scriptures with you. What you're suggesting is not biblical.

Where does the Bible say that you have to ask for specific sins to be forgiven ... for them to be forgiven ?

What is Jesus instructing in the model prayer ... ?

"Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us."

I agree. I believe there is not ample enough evidence in the Bible to give the verdict that suicide - no matter what the circumstances - is an unforgivable sin and condemns you to the second death. What, does one believe in Jesus Christ, goes through a period of terrible times in his or her life, gets discouraged and in a moment of weakness goes too far and takes his own life, and suddenly boom! God counts him among the unbelieving who did not obey the Gospel? Sorry, not buying it. The closest even one verse in the Bible comes to suggesting that suicide is unforgivable no matter what is 1 John 3:15. Support for it perhaps, but in the prevailing light of the Gospel and the overall theme of redemption and forgiveness therein, it is not conclusive. What it does mean, however, for sure is that I sincerely doubt God would ever want someone to take his own life, and it would be extremely grievous to Him. Not to mention how it would hurt the others who love you and would never want to see you do this to yourself. Of course it is wrong. In short, suicide is never the answer, but it is not for us to judge and condemn those poor souls who fall prey. Or even to speculate on whether they will be given life or destroyed in Gehenna at the time of judgment. It serves no purpose to do so.

People who are mentally ill are not in their right mind. Their minds are sick, not functioning as healthy. Making decisions that are not in their best interests. They cannot be held responsible for their actions. God knows a mans mind and its torturous condition. To think that he would not have mercy for a sick person and hold them accountable for the result of that sickness is not a loving God and we know better than that. People can reach a point where they think they can bear no more. Even though we know there is a scripture refuting that. This particular decision is not necessarily preceded by mental illness never the less God is merciful.

My friend, you really do not know?

1 JOHN 1:9 [9], If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

PROVERBS 28:13 [13], He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whosoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

I suggest you read your bible. How are you going to seek God's forgiveness for killing yourself when your dead?

I have heard it taught that suicide comes from a demonic spirit that constantly puts negative thoughts in your mind....thoughts that tell you what a loser you are, if you die you it would be a blessing to your family, that you have messed up so badly there is no other choice.....etc.....and dwelling on such negativitiy creates deep depression and it is hard to cope with daily issues of life.

Has anyone ever heard that suicide is a sin that cannot be forgiven? Where did this teaching come from? Why can't it be forgiven? Didn't Jesus die for all of our sins past, present, and future? So why is suicide an unforgivable sin?
You presume that all sins are forgiven. Can you cite just one scripture that plainly states that our future as well as our present sins are automatically forgiven? I can cite Rom 3:25 which states: "whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins." Former or past sins committed when we came to Christ are forgiven upon repentance and renewal in the Spirit, however there is no verse in Scripture that I'm aware of that states that all of our present and future sins are automatically forgiven. If such were the case, a born again believer would have the freedom to sin and lead a lifestyle of licentiousness. Jesus himself stated that if we refuse to forgive others, God will not forgive us which demonstrates that forgiveness is not automatically bestowed but comes with conditions. Forgiveness require repentance. Thus suicide is unforgivable because dead persons can't repent.

Who teaches that? Many people who commit suicide suffer from mental illness, not demonic possession.

You can find many stories of people on youtube faebook who had a NDE who committed suicide went to hell and they came back to tell their stories .So it can be forgiven if you want it to be by Jesus who people have said came to them in hell and asked "is this what you really want ". If you are thinking about these kind of thoughts you are being attacked by demons to get you to kill yourself so they can prove that God was wrong by giving us freewill . You need to call out to Archangel Michael for protection to clear your mind to get some relief then maybe go seek therapy to look at your beliefs causing you to have these thoughts . Remember you are never alone Jesus is always with us just ask for his help .

Actually,

You're suffering from depression or another mental illness. Not demonic possession.
