  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think that #9 should be a requirement. I think that a person should be accepted on the merits of their interest and commitment to keeping CF pets alive, not on their faith or lack thereof.

I don't know if should make a difference but we do need to talk about it because it has been asked.... What do the rest of you rescuers think about it??

I do agree on this... I think no matter what you faith is you can still be capable of taking care of Pets I know the tesm on Armoury can be any faith so I think in the Pet Care it should be the same as well...

Hi, everyone

I think it's good to have guidelines, but not too much... The main job of CF pet rescuers is to adopt pets so that they won't get deleted... and then let other people adopt the pets for us. So that should be our guideline, everything else should be optional, up to each individual person. :)

In my opinion, having loads of rules isn't good, and it can lead to a kind of legalism... And if there's too much rules, not many people would want to become rescuers, and I think that the more rescuers, the better... :)

I agree in part, Cfpetrescuer9, but if we do not ask for responsible behavior from the owners of adopted pets, then we'll end up losing pets every month. We need to be kind and caring, but we also need to help other learn how to care in the process. The rules as set out are not that restrictive and really shouldn't stand in the way of rescuing the little cf pets. Life has its rules and in order to lead productive lives as Christians requires our adherence to certain of those rules.

I agree with the not having too many rules thing, but these are more of guidelines, then rules. Advice we would like you to take to heart when dealing with pets, not "my way or the highway type thing."

Edit: And we have had expiriences where further insight is needed to keep things from repeating themselves.

I also agree that too many rules will lead to problems, but I also know that not everyone would make a good pet rescuer. That has already been proven here. The main job, yes... but not the only job of pet rescuer... if it was the only job then why would they need another ID?? they could just use their own....

That is why we need to get these guidelines up before we get any other rescuers so they will understand what is expected before they become a rescuer. If they do not agree with the guidelines then they should not be an official rescuer.... they can just use their own ID and they would not need another ID....
