  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sudden realizations...

Once upon a time in english class I heard the following definition regarding novels:

Turning point: the point at which the protagonist comes face to face with a previously unrealized truth.

That's a lot more significant than what I was thinking about, but have you ever come face to face to something obvious that you hadn't thought about? Even silly things, like

Why do bodybuilders walk the way they do?

After working out last night on legs I know it's either that or fall over. They don't have a lot of other choices until they heal back up, and since they're bodybuilders they go and do it again. :^)

Anything from the ridiculous to the sublime - anyone?

(I also have on good authority that such a realization is an epiphany. Tada! :^) )

One day I was really irritated using the advanced reply feature on this website because I couldn't copy and paste other people's statements.

Then I realized that all you have to do is scroll down to the bottom of the page and there are all of the thread's responses.

Convenient, eh?

I was trying to make the hard decision to change from a pre-med major (a major that is family supported and accepted) to an English major (a major not accepted by family and with no guarantee of a job post graduation--yet something I actually enjoy). My sudden realization was that not only does money not always equal happiness, but if English really is the road in which God wants me to take--and I think it is--then he'll give me all the tools to survive and succeed.
