its done by miyazakis son, and its tales of earthsea - based on the tennagers novel. miyazaki himself isnt really on sepaking terms with him, but if you pm me ill give you a link to an interview on the movie

I know you can find that on http://www.nausicaa.net/ That is a great source for all types of information on Studio Ghibli. Going back to even the stuff in the 70's (ok now i am dating myself..)

I got intrested very young by the cartoons that got put in to the ABC Weekend Special on Saturday mornings in the 70's and 80's. Fond memories of . Conan, The Boy of The Future, Lupin and Sherlock Hound . During snippets of OG Readmore. LOL

My all time favorite has to be My neighbor Totoro. I started my collection when we were in Japan and the rest are in the DVD box set collection.
Though the region codes will only allow them to play on my hubbys PS2 that he bought while he was there.

Anyway if he is anything like his father or learned anything from Takahata (if he had the awesome chance..) . I agree we won't be disappointed.

howl's moving castle is also a wonderful book by diana wynne jones; the book is very different from the movie but the characters all resemble each other.

favorite miyazaki movie would be Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro.

uh, it was actually shown in the cinemas in Australia, but i didn't know that it was on and missed it!!

oh no!!! we im counting down the days - 15 more to go till you go to www.madman.com.au/studioghibli and order it. you CAN preorder it, but.....hey...

i was watching nausicaa this morning and thinking about how many people who would pass these movies off because they are anime. theres so much depp inside the morals of the themes of the movies...
