  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I can relate. Ever since I turned 29, it's like I've been in generational no-man's land. It's like most folks are either under 25, or over 35. What's worse is that many churches seem to divide thier young people groups into 20-somethings and 30-somethings. Most 30-somethings are a bit older than me! Not the best grouping for a single guy who wants to date women his age, and maybe a few years younger.

That said, to go on a slight pop cultural tangent, I never could relate to the "Generation X" thing. Back in the day, Kurt Cobain and other popular generational icons were always older than me. "Generation Y" was a little too young for me. Tiger Woods and Angelina Jolie are more my age. We're a distinctly different mini-generation.

I have a similar problem. People think I'm older than I really am, and I generally associate with people older than I am--so people think I'm a boomer.

I've been in a few of those "Where were you when Kennedy was shot," conversations and had to say, "Well....um.....I wasn't even born, yet."

I don't let it bother me too much though.

I'm tired of people trying to tell me that I'm a "Gen-X'er" and that I'm not expected to care about anything.

I do care and what I care about is people minding their own business instead of trying to tell me what mine is.

I'm a 'big boy' and I belong wherever and with whomever I so choose.

( Sorry, got a little out of hand there for a second. ) :p

Yes I do feel stuck in between generations!! My age keep telling me that I am indeed getting up there and but my mind is telling me that I am much younger, and the good thing is everyone tells me that I look between 26 and 30, now that is indeed a compliment! So I don't fit with the twentysomethings but I feel like a twentysomething, go figure!

I was born a Generation Xer
But I love stuff from the 50s, 60s, and 70's!
Really I do! Like some stuff from the 80's
But not as much as from those eras!
As a child of the 80s, I was nostalgic for the '50s and '60s. The music, the cool cars etc. In fact, I still like some of that stuff today.

Yes, I do like the '80s, but that stuff seems too modern to me to qualify real nostalgia. Well, at least when compared to '50s and '60s.

It kind of weirds me out to think that '86 is as old today as '66 was in '86!

I'm weird. Not only do I like the stuff from these eras, but I'm also intrigued by pre-1950 nostalgia!

I used to feel like I was "stuck". I don't feel that way any more. Like quite a few here I felt it in my tweenties. I think that's because it's like we aren't "babies" anymore but we aren't quite mature yet...make sense?
I also do not like the term Gen X. Anyway... LOL
