• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I understand hearing so many different thoughts in your head. Sometimes, often times, I image myself placing my head on Jesus' lap and Him just allowing me to rest on Him. He places his scarred hand on my head and allows me to be comforted. Or, I image holding on as I would to my father and lying my head on His chest, allowing Him to comfort me. I used to didn't really think like this, allowing myself the freedom to "run to Him and rest on Him as I would my loving earthly father", but I've heard ministers whom I trust who are helping me to see God in a different light. God's Word calls Him our Father and tells us to come to Him, to find rest for our weary souls. I know He's Spirit, but Jesus came in human form, I believe for one reason, because we can identify with flesh. He understands our weaknesses because He faced them too. So, I do believe we can practice resting in Him and acknowledging that He holds us in His capable arms, even when we feel forsaken. Feelings and doubts don't change the truth of Who He is. I encourage you to run to Him with all of your struggles and know He hears you and loves you without limit. Ask Him to direct your steps and make the way for you to receive the help and the direction you need. Please don't ever give up. A Scripture I read quite often is: And the Lord, He it is that doth before thee; He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8. I encourage you also to find genuine Christians who can lift you up in prayer, not judgmentally, but in God's love. Fellowship with them. People who live lives that have honored God and trusted Him through life's ups and downs, yet stand firm in faith in Him. People to mentor you. I would be careful not to share things with just anyone who calls themselves a Christian, but with only one(s) who are encouragers to you. Please know you're not alone. Although I may not have the exact same struggle, I still struggle and it's a real battle all the same. I can understand in many ways.

Many hugs,
Rebecca
