Father God,

I just pray for this man right now. I pray that you would give him strength Lord and help him to know sweet Jesus that the day you died on the cross we won. You have cleansed us in your blood father. I pray you would have him know, that he can do anything through you. Take the thoughts away that are not of you and make his mind, soul, and body pure. I pray Lord, that he would come to truely in his heart, respect every woman out there and treat them as precious gifts so that it will help him not to stumble and show direspect in his thoughts. It is such a hard battle to fight Lord. Help him to focus on things of heaven, on heavens riches. For all things on this earth shall surely fade away. For this is not our home, we are only visitors, our home is in Heaven with you. Amen.

I would like to tell ya about a book. Its called Not Even A Hint by Josh Harris. And there is also a book out called Every Mans Battle. You should try to find those. They will be very helpful. Know, that you are not the only one fighting this battle. There are many others out there, but with Gods Strength and Power you can overcome.

We have already Won.

I grew up in a very sheltered home where anything that smacked of a cuss word was prohibited. ("What in the world?" was even prohibited.) So cuss words in my thoughts never arose until I became an adult and began working alongside others who weren't reared as I was. Now I can relate with you because when things go wrong - just let the dog drag a rotten dear hide into the yard, or something equally unsightly, and a cuss word pops into my mind. I've found that when I read the Bible more than usual those words come into my mind less often. The Word of God was referred to in the BIble as water (remember the phrase, "the washing of the water by the Word?) And in the Old Testament the laver of water that stood in the outer court in the tabernacle was a type of the Word of God also, so think of reading the Bible as cleansing water that washes the bad words out of your mind with good, clean water. Romans 7,8 are good chapters for the struggling heart.

Hey Chris. When people pray for you they are praying that you will give your life to Jesus. You probably will never outgrow this until you turn your life over to Jesus. I use to be the same way but now I don't curse anymor. If I pray for you not to curse but you continue to have lustful thoughts and curse it won't accomplish anything. When you give your life to Jesus you will begin to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:1-2. You have to retrain your mind to think positively. YOu cant do it yourself. You need the help of Jesus to do it. Good luck.

 I agree, Chris we can definitely pray for you, but you need Jesus in your life. Just like Jarshwoo said You can't change yourself...but through Christ you can be forgiven and transformed. By giving your life to Christ you have the chance to change...but you have to totally submit yourself to Him, pray and ask Him to come in to your life and make you new. If you truly want to change talk to Christ. I pray that you will come to know your Lord and I pray that these changes that you need in your life will happen for you...but take that next step, He's waiting for you. God Bless!

Chris Brown,
I totally know how you feel....sometimes it Satan who does it and sometimes it's our nasty mind that does it.....do you really believe in Jesus Christ? Tell the thoughts that you hate them, say it out loud and use the name of Jesus to command them to leave from your head....you can also continue to tell God about the matter and in the name of Jesus Christ, ask them to be gone....I know that it drives you nuts.....you can read outloud Philippians 4:8-9....memorize it and say it outloud when your mind begins to think those thoughts...concentrate on on this verse. I hope this will help...

Friend, when do you curse in your thoughts? When you're angry? When you're flat out furious? Just remember, "A good person produces good from the good treasure of his heart, and an evil person produces evil from an evil treasure. For it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks." (Luke 6:45) For you to speak the words of life in opposition of the curses of death, you must be filled with Christ. You must be filled with the Holy Scripture, God's Word of Life. "But now you must also get rid of anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene language from your mouth, and all such sins." (Col 3:8) Overthrow your anger, and you'll conquer your cursing.

Feeling down? Pray. Feeling mad? Pray. Feeling happy? Pray anyways. For it is only when the mind is wholly focused on God that one can truly lose focus on the world.

"For it is God's will that you be sanctified: You must abstain from sexual immorality; each of you must know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not with passion and lust like the gentiles who do not know God;" (1Thess 4:3-5) "Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1Thess 5:22-23) To be blunt, you will never overcome lust if you stay the way you are today. We do not stumble if we do not have something blocking our paths. If you really want to overcome the lust of the eye, you must avoid situations which you know will stir thoughts of lust in your mind. If you do this, the battle will be far easier, and your heart far more open to the helping hands of Christ.

Also, friend, it would be wise to seek an older male who has struggled with the same sin as you are struggling with to confide in. And just to let you in on a little secret, that includes close to 50% of the Church - namely, the male 50%. Now if you didn't already think I was crazy, you will once I suggest this; talk to your dad. Chances are, your dad will know exactly (or close to it) where you're coming from. Tell him that you're struggling and ask him to help keep you accountable. Seeing as you clearly have an internet connection, I'd like to make another suggestion, if I may. Set up your computer in a well-trafficed part of your house if your parents will let you. If they won't, elaborate on your reasoning. If they still won't, use secret tactic #55 until they give in. What's that? :) Whine. A lot.

God bless,
Caleb

I'm new here. I'm struggling with curse words in my thoughts. I'm also struggling with lustful thoughts. Please pray for me.

I think a lot of males (can't speak for females) go through a waves of feelings. But each wave we pass, each time gets less painful. If you're in a wave of lustful thoughts try to ride it out. Say to yourself (well I'll put off lustful thoughts for an hour and do something else, then I'll come back to those lustful thoughts. When the hour is up say to yourself (well I'll put off lustful thoughts for another hour and do this instead)...keep doing it and you build inner strength through hope.

Remember when the Apostle Paul asked that God removes his thorn in the flesh? He asked three times that it be removed and it wasn't done for him. Instead God said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Then Paul said that he would gladly suffer his infirmities so that the power of God may be established in his life.

I truly believe Paul was asking for healing of a physical ailment but this analogy is so useful for spiritual battles too. If we can say with Paul, "Gladly will I suffer so the power of God will be established" then we can see some purpose for our temptations. If we were never tempted we wouldn't need the power of God in our lives. But when we are able to rise above temptations then God is glorified by our holiness. So begin this day by praising and worshipping the Victor over our Temptations and you will be amazed at the power of God that will rest upon you.
