Alright I'm gonna make this as short as possible...

This has basically been my life story for the past 7 months...

I've been trying to live my life for God as best I can, repent completely of my sins and live a pure and clean life, but there's one thing that keeps holding me back...lust/masturbation.

Now I've come a ways over these past 7 months and have gone from watching porn to just using my imagination. I've been trying my hardest to cut it out all together, but here's the deal...

I'll go like 2-3 weeks without any lust/masturbation at all and then WHAM! It hits me like a ton of bricks. I'll just get kindove horny one day so I'll go off on a pleasure fest, masturbating sometimes up to 4 times in a day. I immediately feel guilty and ask for Gods forgiveness, then I'll repent for another 2-3 weeks before the demon comes back and it happens again.

My question: What have you guys done to stop masturbating/lusting completely?

It seems like there's a spiritual battle/physiological warfare going on in my head and although I've prayed for God to give me the strength to get past it, it still continues to happen. I wanna get to the point where it's not happening at all because I feel sooo guilty about it and I know God hates it.

So what should I do? How can I get the self control and get in the proper mindset to stop masturbating completely? Anything that's worked for you in the past?

Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.

It's as natural as a girl having a period.
I'd like to disagree for it is usually by human intervention that a girl at the age for it wouldn't get one.

You do face a common problem, even girls sometimes get caught in fantasies only instead of visually it's emotionally. It will probably be like quitting smoking, it will take time, you will give in, but keep trying and you will get there. Just like any addiction. Be encouraged, follow God and don't give up.

You don't worry about it. It's not self control, it's literally a miracle. Like you said: a demon. You can only beat it by spiritual means. Try praying. Also, God's pleased with what you're doing.
I agree with this, seek God with this and with his help you will succeed in stopping.

It's as natural as a girl having a period. There isn't anything really wrong with it necessarily. But, continue praying and ask for help with the guilt you experience.

I believe a pious Christian girl would be quite offended by that. A girl having her period is as natural as a boy having wet dreams. Both of these cannot be controlled by one's consciousness. Masturbation is not natural when we put God's laws into perspective. Sexual acts should only be used for procreation...no exceptions.

If one has the ability to withstand masturbation, if one has any doubts about it...they will have the power to withstand those sinful desires. Doing otherwise would be as evil as rejecting the Holy Spirit.

Spot on.

Sexual acts should only be used for procreation...no exceptions.
I wouldn't go that far. It should only be done inside marriage, but inside I believe it has more uses than that, pleasure and intimacy can be created.

But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.
1 Corinthians 7:2

My understanding is that the people he was writing to believed that they should only come together to pro-created and believed it to be sinful otherwise. So instead of having relations with their spouse they were having them with prostitutes and others.

It's something to consider when saying that that's all. I don't want a big argument, PM me if you want to talk, so that we don't change the thread topic.

Actually I think that is known as blasphemy, and as we all know, according to the Bible, that is unforgivable. The other can apparently be forgiven. I call BS either way.

To OP:
touch all you want, just be sure to clean up afterwards. Also, lust can't be helped, so just accept it.

Not to be rude or anything.... that's not correct. We don't have a choice with that "monthly gift." Lust is a choice and can be stopped. Think about something that makes you happy and think of that instead of giving in. Praying that it will end.

Lust is more of a reaction. It really can't be helped. The only difference is whether or not you feel guilty about it. Personally I don't, and I don't think anyone should. Also, why isn't this being compared to women lusting instead of comparing it to a woman having a period? They lust too, probably just about as much as men do.
