• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Thank you all for your encouragement .

Anonym00s. You are so right when you say we can lessen the success of temptation. When I don't give free reign to my thoughts and feelings I am stronger in fighting the temptation of p&m. In terms of the attraction to guys that is still there but I am less tempted to go further.

I 've been told by many that I will have to accept my orientation in the same way as I accept that I like a certain colour etc because it is at the very core of me. Unfortunately this is the case currently for me. I'm attracted to guys and its as strong as ever. Hopefully I'll get to the stage soon like you where the attraction will wane. I find that yes there is some homophobic views amongst some Christians, some view this sin differently to the rest which does stop me from talking about it with anyone.

Coleman 13. What you say makes a lot of sense 1 Cor 6 makes it clear what Gods view of any sin is. He also balances his view of sin with his qualities of justice and love. I don't know whether god will make us heterosexuals in this life. I think he will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear but will supply us with the help we need rather than taking the problem away completely. Does that make sense? May all of us continue the struggle.

I understand why you don't want to be hated. God doesn't hate you. Think about it - spend time with Him to discover His love and acceptance of you. You're His kid. He's a perfect God. How can He be perfect and push you away? How can He love you perfectly like the Bible says He does and want you to feel horrible? Think about it. Take care my good friend. take care brother!

Hi everyone. I am 30 + (not from USA) grew up in evangelical, Christian church. was involved in the church since early age... in short: I have been struggling with this unwanted sexual/emotional attraction from my early childhood... I am more emotionally attracted to my owns sex than physically... I have never acted according to my attraction and never plan..I still long to have family, wife and children, but seems it will never happen...it is not right to marry woman to whom a man is not emotionally and sexually attracted.. I got angry with God... and I am still angry...fighting bitterns in my heart... my prayer and tears never got answered...you look around an most people, friends and fellow Christians get married and have children. I know family life is not easy, but it is easier than being alone.

now to those, who think heterosexual oriented and homosexual oriented Christians have the same problems..(I mean with attractions) NO NO and NO

those Christian men who struggle with heterosexual lust, can find a woman (in most cases) and enjoy family life. they can openly speak about their struggles with other Christian brothers..but imagine Christian man who struggles with SSA and knows that he will never be attracted to the opposite sex...will never have wife, and will never be one flash with another human being, with whom he could share struggles and joys of life...
especially if this man does not live in the USA or in an European countries...but somewhere, where he would be despised, neglected and absconder from both -church and secular people, if they knew what he is dealing with..

Yes SSA people know that God loves and do not hate them, but that knowledge unfortunately is not the solution of the problem...it is a total different path..
please (not SSA people) be careful when telling SSA brothers and sisters how can they be free from that cross.

God bless you all.
