Hello brothers and sisters,

I have many sins that I need to work on but today’s confession is that I can’t help but despise islam and muslims, both for all the things they’ve done to oppress, enslave and genocide us Orthodox and for their conscious choice to follow a pedophile murderer as a prophet.

I always try to impede them in any way I can and it pains me that my country will not fight back against them. But to hate them is wrong, not something God would want of me.

What are you all’s thoughts?

The path to 666 goes through Islam: The Path to 666 | Christian Forums.

Think of Islam as the religion of angels (demons.) Currently, the dominant force in the West is the religion of equality. The religion of equality is also demonic. Hence, those who push equality are friendly to Islam, and not to you. Expect current trends to continue. Expect more Islam. Ultimately, the only way to survive this is to leave the West.

It's fine to hate Islam, but you should have pity for the followers of Islam because their religion leads them away from God and ultimately to spiritual death. They are deceived by Satan and need our prayers.

Are they really deceived though? They seem to know their most ‘holy’ leader is a known pedophile and murderer and glorified for that. They choose to follow that

You have to remember two very important things:

1) Individual Muslims are still people too. They are still made in the image of God and are still therefore icons of Christ. They, like us, only really know what they were raised in and raised to believe to a certain extent.

2) While Orthodoxy may not have mortal vs venial sins like in Catholicism, if we did have mortal sins, dehumanization would be one of them. Dehumanization is among the worst of sins. Some would even say that to dehumanize is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Do not hate people, instead pray for them.

With that, I would like to direct you to a homily given by one of the Antiochian priests in my area right as the latest Gaza war started:

(posting in fellowship)

My doctor is Muslim. Apparently, he has his prayer rug during work and says his daily prayers during his lunch hour.

I’m in the “despise Islam, love the Muslim” category. I have excellent reason to hate the Muslim chiropractor who seduced my mom into Islam through kindness, and I do hate the deception that had him believing and teaching that Islam is a peaceful religion, but we are under orders to pray for our enemies. I drive past a Muslim mosque and “cultural center” on my way to church. I hate it, it’s a reminder every time of my mom’s apostasy in the last years of her life, but that doesn’t make it OK to hate people. Yes, they are deceived, on various levels.

I personnally consider a relationship (conceived like a kind of battle) for lost whenever hatred possesses my soul. Never has Jesus let hatred win his soul in his life among men. Still less in the wilderness.. He was yet with his ennemy

Do the best you can living according to the Gospel. I always pray the Lord’s great commandments ( Matthew 22:36-40) & the golden rule ( Matthew 7:12) alongside the daily Trisagion prayers, I say the Jesus Prayer for myself and then as an intercession ( “have mercy on us”). I pray the 10 commandments as an intercession hoping as many of us ( me too of course ) will keep them. I look through the Bible for help to know that I must love my neighbor but not this world ( for ex. 1 John 2:1-29 is very helpful). I view this within St. Paul telling us of spiritual warfare ( Ephesians 6:10-20) and avoid any unhinged thoughts or emotions in doing so.

In my works, I try to imitate what I pray for primarily with whatever I can give to charity ( Matthew 6:1-4). In all this, I feel tension everyday and stumble but also keep in mind what the Lord tells us is passing away, what we need to do & know, & what awaits us in Matthew 24 & 25.

I don't know because I'm not a theologian or cleric or any of that. But if what Fr Luke in his homily says is accurate than yes, dehumanization is unforgivable.

And it makes sense. We are all made in the image of God. Just separate the people from the religion. Random Muslims in the street are no more responsible for 9/11 than random Japanese-American citizens were responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Don't be that hate-filled guy because Christ said to "love one another," not "love one another except these people," and certainly not "hate one another".

Oh, my! Do I ever hear you! I have found my thoughts about these people to be less than in the love of Christ. I am working on praying for them, but whenever I hear them lying through their teeth or promoting evil, the first thoughts that comes to my mind are not Christ-lie at all!

What Fr Matt said makes the necessary distinction. The people, and what they individually believe, can vary. The objective core teachings of the religion, as held across history, we can and should hate.

My mother is buried in an Islamic cemetery in central California.

Why Atheists and Mormons more than Muslims? Just curious?

Believe it or not, there are still some (conservative) Episcopalians and United Methodists...granted, they're a minority.

Disagree with the 'leave the West' as the solution. The West is the key. The West invented the internet!

The 21st century will not be kind to Islam. The internet makes it easy to refute Islam.
If you have encountered Muslims on the internet, they will often repeat the same 3-5 +/- "flaws" or contradictions of Christianity. It is easy to pull up refutations of such attacks.

On the other end, the internet has many sources that pick apart Islam, including its pagan origin - likely Baal worship, the creepy and evil originator, and the hokey and vile beliefs and such, including Aisha's goat eating so many Quran verses - lost forever. And Momo not only being very white (he has a supposedly lineal descendant, who is very white), but being a slave trader as well, including black slaves. So much for Muhammed Ali, the American boxer, changing his name from that of a notable abolitionist.
