Ummm Because Alexgb00, we cannot find any evidence of a world wide flood, we know geologicaly what one should look like and nothing we find looks that large, yes we can find some big floods but not a global one.

If however this story grew out of the end of the last ice age and Noah was living in the fertile valley that would become the Red Sea one could easily see how the mountians he knew were covered and from his standpoint it would be quite easy to assume that the whole world had been flooded too.

Jerry, you must agree that evolution is a controversial topic. Biology isn't, chemistry isn't, physics isn't. I, being a Christian, have never had a problem with astronomy, chemistry or physics -- i enjoy learning all three. They teach me about the basics of this world and how things are set up. There is nothing in either of the three that disagrees with God's Word.

The reason i don't accept darwinism anymore is that it contradicts the Bible account. Add to that that my Bible says that all nations are of one blood (Acts 17:26). I guess that's not what evolution makes people think. Brace yourself:

Then I guess there is no way to take the story figuratively there fore since Physics and biology both say no global flood it is fully a myth with no factual basis.

Lewis, i know you have no basis for the above statement. If you think you can find a racist verse in the Bible, go ahead. The popular belief among atheists is that the Bible breeds racism. "The Bible has taught bigotry for thousands of years" is a myth. Don't say things you can't back up, Lewis.

I'd like to see where the Bible supports "slavery and bigotry," as you claim. You won't find anything.

Many would argue (i'm sure you have heard this) that our fossil record was created by the flood. But how would physics aid in proving something that took place 4500 years ago?

Calm down a litte Alex, I never said the bible teaches it but it has been used to support both bigotry and savery.

Believe it or not I am a Christian too. But I can't lie and say that the Bible has only been used for good purposes. It wasn't intended to be used for bad things, but then neither was TNT.

The idea of a "Chosen People" has often been used to descriminate agains those with dark skin.

The book of leviticus and one of Pauls letters has been used to support slavery.

The crusifiction of Jesus was given as one of the reasons that Hitler wanted to kill off the Jewish people.

Seebs, i personally don't think that the Bible is the creation of human minds. I think God used people (such as John, who wrote Revelation) to record what happened. Adam wasn't even around when God created the world, so if it had not been inspired, Adam wouldn't know what to write.

By the way, i also believe that the first people were very advanced, contrary to evolution. They didn't have technology like ours, but were much more intelligent.

Yes, many would argue that...

... but this argument has been shown to be wrong over and over again. There is no way that the fossil record could be layed by a single large flood - and that is backed up by scientifc facts.

Physics tells us how flood waters act, after all water does have to obey Physics does it not? There is no evidence of a global flood in the geologic columb. Physics also tells us how fast radioactive things decay, this dates the layers as settling a lot slower than a little over a year as stated in the bible.

Biology can be used to trace back down liniages of humans and animals, it shows no bottle neck in the genes between 3000 and 10000 years ago so again no flood as stated where and when in the bible.

Ha, but it does! Research has shown a bottleneck in the linage of cougars. I´m not sure about the date, but it might even fit the assumed date of the flood.

Now we have scientifically proven that Noah took a pair of cougars on his Ark - all other animals swam!

Well, the "chosen people" were Israel, and they weren't exactly Caucasian. But this reminds me. Know what the full title of Darwin's greatest hit is? "The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life." He certainly thought that he was the favored, or chosen race.

Lewis, i honestly can't find anything in Leviticus that hints at bigotry. Could you be more specific, and about that letter of Paul's too?

First off, the Jews didn't kill Christ. It was the Roman soldiers. But He gave up his life willingly. If Hitler had wanted to punish the ancestors of those responsible for Christ's death, he'd have to start a war against Moussolini and the Italians.

Hitler's move against the Jews, here's an interesting thing (i know it's from CSE, but he has a source for it). According to that list, if Hitler had been successful killing off all the Jews, he'd move on to blacks (Moussolini had done that in northern Africa), then Oriental people, then to Slavs. I'm pretty much full Slav, myself. And i can't quote this, but i've heard something about Hitler being a quarter Jew.

Well, you don't hear that very often, but I happen to agree with you. IMO our ability to see things clearly and rationally was severely crippled by the fall.

It talks about a case where an 80-foot whale was buried in diatomacious earth, standing on end! If you know what diatoms are, doesn't it seem strange that this could've happened? In our world, if a sea animal dies, it settles to the floor and is picked apart quickly by different critters. Here is an example of a full skeleton preserved in diatoms. To cause this, there must've been something that kicked up so many diatoms and buried a whale standing up. Like... a flood, for instance?

How many times have you seen Jesus painted with black hair or even looking halfway middle eastern? That in itself can be concidered bigotry. As strange as it may sound most caucasians picture Jesus as being caucasian.

(Lanz insisted that the story of the temptation of Eve in Genesis was an esoteric account of her seduction by one of the monsters.)

And notice how they conveinently forgot about Jesus being Jewish but concidered him "Aryan".
