Discussing specific good works is simply wrong, that's why I cannot discuss mine......they are secret, as in accordance with the teachings of Jesus.

Throwing a chalice would violate the Law of Love that Jesus gave us.

Someone, even an innocent bystander like myself, could be injured.

That is sin.

However, as James says in his letter, by the power of Grace, you can resist the temptation to throw that chalice and the Devil will FLEE from you!

Of course, IF you are a FundaGelical, you could feel free to just go ahead and throw the chalice because you think you are covered by Paul's "Easy Grace" rule.

It all depends on whether you listen to Jesus or Paul.

Then you post on a public forum that he has given all he owns to the poor and thus is above criticism and since I disagree with him I am unmannerly and out of line.........and, just by coincidence, I just happen to be disagreeing with you also..............

Ok......you both are obviously above criticism in this case.

Jesus was a savior in the sense of showing us the way.

Sorry if this is a repeat of someone else, as I've skimmed, not read thoroughly, from that until here.

The problem with this statement is, it isn't what Jesus said. He did not say "I will show you the way".. He said "I am the way, the truth, the life, and no man comes to the Father but by me."

Yes. However, sometimes people find out our good works because we just happen to be spotted by them. If we do the good works without seeking glorification, but that glorification comes anyway, and then we say "Glory to God, not me" (or some paraphrase), then what wrong have we done?

I believe the Bible was written by God just the way God wanted it to be written. The men used to actually write it were just God's tools, like a pen is to man. Did the pen write the Bible? If I couldn't believe that the whole was written by God then I would have to question each part. If I found any part of the Bible that I could not believe then I would not be able to believe any of it. Either the whole Bible is God's word or none of it is. I believe that God is a living God that affects things like the writing and canonizing of the Bible. I do not believe that God is just some abstract concept that has long removed himself from man and just expects us to live up to some ideal he set forth millenia ago. I believe God is real and affects everything that happens today from minor decisions people make to big ones governments make. I believe God has a hand in putting leaders in charge of the various nations and holding them responsible for their people and seeing the bad ones overthrown by their people or by war.
Exodus 1020 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
The Lord affected the Pharaoh's decision to not let the people of Israel go. So that the Lord could bring plagues upon the people of Egypt so that eventually they would be so eager to get rid of the children of Israel that they would give them their jewelry which the children of Israel could then use to build their temple. There's alot more to be learned about God and man from that story but for this discussion's purpose I am just trying to show that God is intimately involved with the affairs of men.

Excuse me, but I was under the impression that ALL Christians do good works.

Besides, the rulers of this forum have temporarily declared me a non-Christian until they can decide what I am.

I'm now listed as a Taoist, but I may end up as an agnostic or a deist.......or, maybe even a Muslim or a Jew simply because of the complexity of my views.

But I am determined to suffer all things and be joyful and be more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
