I personally believe it was a false flag operation that Trump, May and Macron fell for. Not only were there no deaths, there hasn't been any independent confirmation that chemicals were released in the first place. Doctors are not reporting receiving or treating victims of a gas attack. And after most of the ISIS problem has been eliminated, and with rebel forces being granted safe egress, and when the US decides to pull out troops, and just when things are finally settling down for Assad, it makes absolutely no sense that, OUT OF NOWHERE, he decides to gas citizens. One curious detail is that there were no deaths. This suggests to me that, behind the scenes, to avoid escalating the situation, we must have told the Russians/Syrians when and where it was going to happen so the places could be evacuated.
So hopefully it's not too bad after all. Some sketchy sites get blasted, jingoistic Americans high-five each other, the message gets across to Assad, but it was done in a way that won't escalate to Really Bad (TM).

So to you, it makes perfect sense that right now, in the midst of all that's happening in Syria, Assad decides to gas Syrian citizens. I can't quite wrap my head around that concept. Could you please elaborate on Assad's motives and the end-game results he's seeking? There were no deaths in the retaliatory strike. 74 people died in the gas attack.
The bio-medical samples collected from three victims during their autopsy were analysed at two OPCW designated laboratories. The results of the analysis indicate that the victims were exposed to Sarin or a Sarin-like substance. Bio-medical samples from seven individuals undergoing treatment at hospitals were also analysed in two other OPCW designated laboratories. Similarly, the results of these analyses indicate exposure to Sarin or a Sarin-like substance.

Very simple: The quickest way to clear a building (or buildings) of enemy insurgents is to gas it.
And why do this when your winning the war, knowing that it'll bring international attention from countries who are looking for excuses to bomb you?
There wasn't.
Eh, Hitler was a wall paper hanger if you believe that. One glaring thing (no pun intended) that makes me really question the news about Assad is that he was once a quiet and unassuming eye doctor. lol. And didn't even expect power, until his older brother died. Those two little things there make me scratch my head. How do you get from point A (eye doctor/nerd) to point B (brutal dictator)? Stranger things have happened, but still..
The ones left yes. But, the insurgents and rebels have been granted safe egress.
