• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ever noticed how much easier it is to slip into negative thinking or depression when you feel stressed? Doing end of semester exams and assignments at the moment and there's a lot of pressure.
Yes, Snowy, stress can definetly do that! I just ended my teacher's assistant job of three and a half years and will not be called back in the fall due to budget cuts. Plus on top of that I caught a bad cold and also have bad cramps right now from the lovely "monthly" womanly thing! And I promised today to take my daughter and her two friends to the waterpark-oh boy!!! But remember-even in the hardest times, God is there for us. We always have His loving shoulder to lean on and comfort us. My favorite quote is "this too shall pass." I say that to myself quite alot when I'm feeling really stressed and depressed. Best wishes with your schooling! Do you have many more semesters/years to go? Prayers said for you during this stressful time, Lori

I have a tendency to freak out around exam time because I'm just a wee bit obsessed with my grades. I can usually tell when I'm super stressed because I'll be sitting at the computer or on the bed studying, and my dog will come up and start staring at me and poking me with his nose. When he does that, I know it is time to give myself a break and chill out. When I am not stressed out, he just sleeps next to the desk while I'm working -- like he is right now.

I agree... stress is a terrible 'open door' to many negative things, depression being one of them! I have MS (multiple sclerosis) so, I am extremely familiar with stress on a daily basis... I DEPEND ON GOD to get me through each day. "His hand will point the way my feet should travel day by day"!! AMEN! I don't know how I would handle life without Him... :) PRIASE JESUS!
