strange squirrel

i live in an area that used to be a hickory forest, and we have lots of hickory trees, with their nuts that the squirrels love, and so lots of squirrels. we have 3 kinds: fox, gray, and black. the black squirrels used to be quite rare but they're really multiplied. and now we have a lot of hybrid squirrels that are brownish or even orangish. this is the weirdest one though: black with patches of orange and an orange tail. what do you think of it? i can't figure out how it could be orange, so i've decided it must be part alien...

That is a cool squirrel!

We have mainly grey squirrels, down the road some there are some black ones. I love the black ones.
Up north of us there are red ones.

Never saw a squirrel anything like that one!

we have some weird squirrels here too, albino squirrels. i've only seen them twice though and neither time with a camera handy.

Do you live anywhere near Washing DC? I know the Canadian Blacks were "released" in that area, mixing with other types.

"Black squirrels" are actually Gray Squirrels. It's just a different color morph.

Could be this squirrel got into the left over hair bleach in someone's garbage can! Actually, this squirrel is quite pretty. Nothing wrong with a little cross-breeding to make a new hybrid. I think it's cute!

HAHA my dad always told me he seen a black squirl while he was at work, he told me he used to try to catch one for me to prove that they were real. try to catch one with a fishing new. haha i miss that old man he died last november. haha God rest his old soul.
