it sounds like when you have a TV or monitor ON, you know..that high pitch sound. well its like that.

I have a friend whose sister has this problem but hers is so severe that she has actually mentioned to her doctor to do something surgically to make her deaf.

She has found that removing all salt from her diet has reduced it some. Unfortunately hers is so bad that even that has not totally solved it. No help from the doctor.

i know that sound as well... ijust thought it was normal tho...
I have had ear and nose troubles, so if it's not normal it mite be linked to that... wen i go bak to the doctor (for further operation) i will remember to mention it to him... so if i have it, and u have it, it mite have sumthin to do with ur ears (i've had grommits put in my ears b4)

Hmmmm...I have the same problem - I've just gotten used to it. I figure it's due to years of listening to music too loud.

I'd be interested to hear others comments/advice. :)
Hmm, you know, that's interesting. My mom is hard of hearing. So when we were kids, she'd have the radio on really loud (because she couldn't hear) and us kids, with small ears...you know? Mom says I was born hard of hearing.

But yep, I get the noises in my ears/head, too. I'm getting it now as we speak. Or type. :p Sometimes the noises sound like someone's rattling a plastic bad right by my head! Now THAT bugs me! That's when I think someone IS there! I've had audiologists say that it's "normal" for someone with a hearing impairment...

i have it too! that does make sense if its about music. I go to loud concerts at least two times a week, and am always listening to loud music.

I have that, but, like everyone else, always thought it was normal. Sometimes it gets really bad though... it gets really loud and I can't make it go away and it's really annoying.
Tinnitus is the quick answer. But there are lots of possibilities. My Mother has Menniere's Syndrome (I'm sure I spelled that wrong), and that is one of the big symptoms. Worth checking out.

Masking devise? Whats that?

is that like a walkman or a radio? were you can put Sounds or music?

also they Say that Tinnitus can be the consecuense of Something, the only thing I recall is that when I was 7 or 10, I heard a crackling noise inside my glass of water that had Ice in it, the Ice were Crackling so I placed my Ear in the Glass (and that was the Stupidest Thing I ever done cause Ice Explodes and I didnt know it.

so I dont know if that was the cause, If I recall it was my Right Ear, and Now I noticed my Right Ear seems to be the only one with Tinnitus, Cause when I put my My hand on my left ear I dont hear a sound only the other one in the background, But when I Put my hand on the Right Ear, I definetely hear it.

Ive been to forums that people have this Tinnitus Thing. and I Feel Sad because there are people that are way worse than me, Im praying for all those people that have this, hope you will too. :)
