My wife and I have decided to have one more kid before we get too old, she is 35 right now.

So we hauled out the calendar and marked the dates of when we should be trying. These dates are, of course, based on the end of her last period.

We usually try every 2 days starting around the 9th day after her last period. However, something very strange happened. We started on the 9th day and on the 11th day she had another period.

While she sometimes varies by a couple of days she has never had this happen before. She wouldn't go to the doctor.

At any rate, it passed and she is find.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

How long did it last? Was it just like a normal period? Shorter? Lighter? Was the one before the 9th lighter or shorter? Anything unusual or strange about either of them? out of the ordinary?

I've heard of women having 2 periods in one month, it happens occasionally. If it were me and they were both full length periods.. I'd probably see a doctor, just to be safe. But I do think it's ok, rare, but probably not a problem. One time I had a period that lasted like 2 days.. a lot less than usual then a week later had another one. I was told it was normal.. but I was a lot younger when that happened.

It could be the beginning of menopause, possibly. My mother started going through it at 27, which I know is really early, but they wouldn't diagnose it until she hit 35. She had the same problem though - she would get two periods in a month, then they'd be regular for a couple of months, then two in a month again. I'd suggest checking with her doctor, just in case there's something else going on :)
