Just a casual bump. It's great to hear of all those people i've never talked on STR. This doesn't need to be a stuffy community which only ever talks about the real presence or whatever.

I'd love to talk to you more. Hang around and see what threads come up.

From what i gather this is the best opportunity for Anglicans from around the world to come together to discuss anything we want to. For that to happen we all need to be active.

Let's be serious, let's be lighthearted, let's be theological, let's be frivolous!!!

I haven't been a regular poster here (I tend to hang out on Bridge Builders and WWMC more than anywhere else), and I attend a different church (Assemblies of God), but by theology, and by affection for C.S. Lewis and Tom Wright, I consider myself more Anglican than anything else. I suppose I'd be emergent, charismatic, broad church Anglican. Sometimes I feel like I need a "liturgy fix" and then I wander down to St. Mark's Cathedral (ECUSA) in Seattle. It's too liberal for my taste, but they do liturgy very well.

Oh yes?

I came for the theology and stayed for the liturgy as well. ;) At the 11:00 service we actually _sing_ the liturgy. It's excellent.

I'm glad to see a few friendly faces, but this place seems a shadow of its former self.

The Liberal/Conservative argument seems to have run its course, and both sides have moved on.

Have no fear... I'm sure the Liberal/Conservative argument will make a comeback! ^_^ It's just a matter of time.

Gosh, I'm getting cynical in my old age...

How boring, I hope not. It's nice to see people talking about books and church and family and that kind of thing.

I agree, it is nice. But some of us also like discussing deeper issues. Which shouldn't be a problem, but becomes one when people can't speak nicely to one another.

Hello

I was confirmed in the Anglican Church 18 months ago.
My mother is going to post next, below this post.

Welcome to STR

Thanks!

I'm his mother. I've been here, in the past, under a different name but after moving house I lost the password.

I hope you don't mind if we post here. We tend to be an ecumenical family in that CosmicMoonbeam's father is Anglican and I am Catholic. However, we go to both churches.
