A lot of America did fall for a conspiracy theory, the Russia Russia Russia hoax which we now know was perpetrated by the Hillary Clinton campaign. I think more people are waking up and are not not as easily fooled. People need to know the difference between the slogan "Black Lives Matter," which means every life is precious and should be embraced by all, versus the organization by that name, which is like critical race theory, Marxist inspired. Let's see what what was written in past years. I have provided a link to the publication Critical Race Theory by De La Garza and Ono. Note the second sentence of the second paragraph:Who are "they"?
Over the decades, many civil rights activists were accused of being Marxists, specifically communists, as a scare tactic when they were not Marxists at all. A few were.
Calling Critical Race theory marxists and that these supposed Marxists want to take over education is simply propaganda and conspiracy theory.
"It was also an outgrowth of Marxist critical theory . . ." (my highlighting in bold)

As I've said, to boil it down into simple terms, the idea is to use race as a means of division instead of the class war taught by Marxism.
